It's style reminds me of TOS: Agents of Influence.I like the second one with Spock and Uhura.
Hmm. A bit annoying that, after the publicity emphasised the importance of Crusher and Troi in the story and despite the author's express desire to focus on those characters in particular, the cover features neither of them.

A cover's job is to sell the book. For all that "don't judge a book by its cover" is a cliche, the fact is that pretty much everybody judges a book by its cover. Worf is a more popular character than Crusher and Troi, so that probably dictated why he's on the cover.
Nice covers, although I do agree with @DarkHorizon that it would have been nice if they had included Dr. Crusher and Troi on the cover for Shadows Have Offended.More covers!

Recycling an existing art asset for both budget and recognisability. Same thing Star Trek Online did for Romulan Birds of Prey of 2409, which fortuitously worked out given how often ENT recycled TNG-era aesthetics. Why is the Romulan BoP from Enterprise on the top right of Shadows Have Offended?
Maybe there actually is a 22nd-century Bird-of-Prey in the novel. After all, a 23rd-century BoP showed up in use by the Fenris Rangers in Picard.
I remember many people thinking that it was an obvious choice for a potential novel, but I don't think anything was announced or rumored. IIRC, James Swallow said in his post-release interviews for TDV that he suggested a Seven of Nine backstory novel during the pitching stage, but everyone decided that was territory likely to be explored within the show itself and his novel should be about something else.Speaking of the Fenris Rangers, I could have sworn about a year or so ago somebody said in an interview that there was a Picard novel in the works about Seven and her time with them. Do we know anything more about that? Or did I imagine it?
shame the cover doesn't reflect that attempt at greater representation in the real world and in universe - Surely that could have been spun into a marketing gimmick itself?
I'm curious which sell better. Pocket was all about floating heads for a couple of years, then they switched to mostly CG space ship scenes (or at least that's how it seemed). Now they're doing more of a mix with some more poster art-type stuff too.I actually prefer space/ship based pictures over people
