2020 titles announced

I forgot Dr. Girani, Dr. Tropp and Dr. Sharak/Commander Clarissa Glenn (Voyager relaunch). A medical supply vessel would be helpful. Maybe Cardassians are immune to corona....

I got an email from Amazon today about ADF's Kelvinverse book The Unsettling Stars saying they don't have an estimated delivery date and they'll update when they've got one. I'm not sure if this means delay (understandable with all going on in the world right now, and I've waited ten years what's a few more months:lol:) or if it's just Amazon weirdness.

I’ll be honest, I read that blurb, I was more excited about Chapel getting some time in the limelight than McCoy. And I love me my McCoy focus. But Chapel doesn’t get near enough focus in my opinion, so her having a significant role in this excites me.

I'll be honest, too. I've never really done much with Chapel before so i wanted to remedy that.

And, yes, she plays a big part in the book.

Amazon's been adjusting shipping estimates back and forth for the past few weeks, prioritizing "essential" orders and such. You'll probably get another email closer to the release date with something concrete.

Even before the crisis, I'd get that all the time with Amazon pre-orders that were months in the future. Usually they still ended up delivering on the release date, they just stopped listing that as the estimate until closer to release.

It's not just shipping. I've been noticing a lot of release dates are getting pushed back over the last three weeks or so. Not suck much with Trek books, but quite a few Star Wars titles I've been waiting for look like they'll be a longer wait.

There may be varying issues depending on where the books are being printed. Coming from overseas? There may be delays due to the point of origin because of the current situation. At last report, Trek novels currently in development are proceeding as scheduled.

It's not just shipping.

I had a brief credit card glitch three weeks ago and had to reorder one book, from an Amazon US batch of four items, that had been cancelled from my order. I received that book in Australia today. Speedy service, considering the current situation.

Five Year Mission novels don’t interest me personally (not a comment on quality - just not my thing due to the greater focus on putting the toys back where writers found them with every novel as opposed to other Trek lines), but a focus on Chapel has got my attention so I will buy this. I loved Child Of Two Worlds where you had more freedom to play with characters not in use elsewhere.

Amazon is listing the paperback date as May 14 now, with digital and audio versions April 14. I've waited ten years for this novel, I'll wait a little longer to actually hold it in my hands!

I imagine that there are a lot of printing plants that are either closed or working at reduced staffing/capacity right now becuae of the current situation. Because of this, I would guess that some release dates for upcoming books will be getting pushed back a bit.

My local bookstore has paperback copies, which I paid yesterday, and I got the impression i could do a curbside pick up that day, a day early. I opted to pick it up later today, as my schedule yesterday delayed me.
