2019 Releases

No ENT novel from Mr. Bennett on 2019?

It could be a casualty of the protracted negotiations. An attempt to cut the fat as it were, I wouldn't be surprised if Aventine or even Titan don't show up for a while, if ever again in there own stories. - Not the Aventine has had many of them.

And I just now finished writing the first draft of The Captain's Oath! Five days before deadline, no less!
I must say its wonderful to have access to a Star Trek writer (no I am not buttering up to you....pretty please write another ENT - ROF book!) ;)

Hi Christopher, are you able to tell us if this is just for the 2018 publishing schedule, or for a ROTF sequel at all?

Blink once for 2018, twice for Enterprise novels as a whole.

I can't speak for Christopher, but I don't believe those are questions he can answer. Only the publisher can answer whether they're publishing an Enterprise novel this year.

As Spock would say, "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." Pocket hasn't announced the whole publishing slate for 2018 yet, so we're only seeing part of the picture at the moment.

Sorry, my joke about blinking might have been too subtle and/or bad, but I assumed that. :)

2018 is almost over. The Captain's Oath is scheduled for May 2019. I have not yet had any discussions about what my next Trek project will be. The schedule tends to be worked out one year at a time.

Oops, I meant 2019 not 2018 (hard to believe 2018 is almost over already!) but thank you for answering my question. :)

Good to hear Christopher has another novel coming up. I always enjoy his books.

Regarding future releases I'm not sure we'll see any more Enterprise novels (or DS9 or Voyager novels--except for Beyer's last book that is yet to be released). Esp. with a new trade paperback format. I'm just not sure enough people would buy a $16 Enterprise novel to make it worth their while.

My prediction is the focus will be on the original series, Discovery and TNG--until the nu-TNG show comes out. Then I think the relaunches of TNG will fade away to be replaced by novels based on the new show. I frankly think the relaunches days are numbered at this point, and they will focus mostly around TNG IMO, with some possible appearances by DS9 characters.

But honestly, I think we've seen the last of any DS9 and Enterprise standalone novels (and Voyager once "To Lose the Earth" is released).

BTW, any word on where "To Lose the Earth Stands" at this point. The last I heard is it will be completed, that it's not been abandoned.

I'm also curious will it be a MMPB since it's under the old contract, or upgraded to Trade (not sure if that can be done, maybe it's contracted as MMPB).
