Yeah I wasn't focusing on that part. But its good to know you dont know much more than we do. I have my theories and everything you've said here seems to fit with what I'm imagining. Hopefully the end outcome will be a good one.

Basically I'm guessing theres a delay in renewing the licence because Pocket and perhaps CBS was holding out to get everything squared away with the situation with the new films. Perhaps that is taking a while but when its all worked out we'll be back to full steam ahead with a book every month, continued Discovery novels, Kelvin Universe novels, and the destruction of Romulus in the 'present day' books.

Under that situation there will be more seperate series going, so each series will see the spotlight less often, but there would be major benefits to that outcome as well, so thats what I'm holding out hope for at this point.

Looks like my musings earlier today were spot on. :techman:

I'm still wondering if we'll end up with a few months gap in early 2018, or if they'll somehow be able to crank out a novel by March, assuming Discovery #2 is in Feb.

Well I suppose that was not a given. But I think everyone is mostly 'yaying' the licence expanding to cover the Kelvin Universe which opens up both that setting and post 2386 Prime Timeline.

That was what I was happy about. I wasn't worried about the books not continuing, so that news wasn't that big of a deal to me.

How far did the original kelvinverse books that were going ot be written then cancelled get? Any chance of them being release?

They were completed in their entirety. But I doubt they will be released as at least two of them were already rewritten as Prime Timeline novels.

In another thread yesterday it was talked about how No Time Like the Past and Face of the Unknown were reworked from those authors Kelvinverse books.

Very interesting... in fact, the cover blurbs for Cox's The Hazard of Concealing and No Time Like the Past are almost the same!
