I don't see how this addresses the Dodgers' main problem, which is that they don't have anyone who can pitch the 8th inning...

Red Sox: GM Cherington out, old Tigers Prez Dombrowski is in. Cherington 'declined' the opportunity to stay on as GM and work under Dombrowski. Will see how it goes, but think this needed to happen. Ben's had some big failures in the last couple years, front office needed a shakeup. Will see if Farrell ever really returns to manage after cancer. They should have fired him a while ago, so maybe he'll transition to something in the front office so they don't have to fire someone with cancer...

I mean, the Cubs scored 8 in each game, but gave up 10 and 15.

I'm not surprised Cashman would have said this, but I don't see the point in bringing it up after five years. If he really didn't want Jeter back, he should have let him walk.

That's why I don't get any anger coming from this. Tulo is 10+ years younger and at that point stronger offensively and defensively.

Seriously. By 2010, Jeter had been a defensive liability for about four years, he had declining production and his lower body was slowly grinding into dust. It would have been irresponsible for Cashman to just say, "OK, you're Derek Jeter, here's a blank check."
