It's not like he was the first PR nightmare in baseball history. In Bonds' case, the required proof should be reduced from "beyond a reasonable doubt" past "preponderance of the evidence" down to "He put up an OPS over 1.000 the year before and the Mariners lost 101 games in 2008 while DHing Jose Vidro."

He was a little beyond a PR nightmare, he was indicted right after the 2007 season, I don't think anyone wanted to sign the guy with that over his head.

ARod hit HR #661 last night to pass Mays for sole possession of 4th place on the Home Run list. He almost did it 2 innings earlier, if not for the fact he was robbed of a Home Run. However the best thing of all, he was called out of the dugout for a curtain call. I'm very happy that a lot of Yankees fans are cheering on ARod this season. So far this season he has been a difference maker and I think the Yankees wins & losses show that.

He's better than most predicted for sure.

He's not only hitting HR's, but pulling some inside fastballs as well. Not sure I thought his hips were good enough to do that. It could well be that year off was the best thing that could have happened to his body.

He has definitely made a difference, but Ells and Gardner are killing it in the 1-2 spots and Tex appears to be completely healthy for the first time in a couple years.

Nice to see CC Sabathia finally get a win.

I think he's pitched well enough to get a win one other time. He seems to be learning to pitch without that 95+ slider he's been so accustomed to use. Not an ace anymore for sure, but he does eat innings still and is an important cog in this rotation. He appears to be healthy.

Pineda is killing it. 16K's the other night!! The surprise for me is Eovaldi, I think Larry Rothschild's coaching has really helped this kid. He was just a flame thrower... now he's looking more and more like a pitcher. Did well in the no decision last night.

I don't know why, but since being a regular subscriber to MLB.TV, I watch quite a few Marlins games, and I love watching Stanton hit baseballs. That shot was impressive to say the least.

The Cubs win on a walk off walk by Coghlan, one batter after Soler absolutely refused to take a walk.

I hope Soler gets his shit together soon. Familia was hell-bent on walking in the winning run, but Soler was swinging at utter crap.

Soler seems more affected by cold weather than most.

Hopefully as the temps heat up he will as well.

Damn that Cubs game was a roller coaster.

They win in 12, with the bases loaded, after Polanco trips & falls down on a shallow fly ball.

The Cubs blew 7-1 & 10-5 leads, but kept adding runs when they needed them. Another thing they wouldn't have done the last few years.

Outside of a marathon like today, what would 1 more reliever do for them? The guys they have need to stop giving up leads, so maybe they need some different guys.

Surprisingly, Edwin Jackson was a bright spot in the cavalcade of pitchers.

The Pirate catcher must have taken a half dozen foul balls to the face mask, plus a bat to the hand on a back swing.

The home plate umpire took a couple fouls to the face himself. Both Cubs catchers got HBP. Not a good day to be a backstop.

Figure they can bring up Wada and give him Wood or Hendricks' slot in the rotation. Then give whoever the odd-man-out is a long relief role. Jettison Coke.

On the postgame show, they said Polanco looked like he had been tasered, and that's pretty accurate.


The Cubs sent Matt Szczur to AAA and recalled Brian Schlitter, so there's you're extra bullpen arm.

Also, Travis Wood seems destined for the bullpen, they'll probably replace him in the rotation with Wada.

Wood has been the weakest link in the rotation.
