2011 NFL Season - A New Game

WTF? Switching to another game.

And in the meanwhile, I'm in the heart of Dane County, Wisconsin, which undoubtedly has far more interest in the Bears / Lions game, but instead we're stuck with the NO / ATL overtime clusterfuck.

Edit: Oh, fuck, no one told me it was motherfucking Thom Brennaman calling the game. Never mind! :barf:

Yeah, well, the Baltimore station showed the meaningless Redskins game instead of the critical Bengals/Steelers game this afternoon. When will these programming assholes realize that NO ONE in Baltimore cares about the Redskins? :klingon:

Was it a Fox game or a CBS game?

It was a CBS game. The local affiliate apologized during their news cast, but they had no answer as to why CBS switched games. They said they'd look into it. Today another local station also commented on the switch and mentioned that most of the San Antonio viewing area (a good portion of South Texas) and even Austin stuck with the game.

It is so bad, that there is no way its on purpose.

I have the exact opposite perspective--it's SO bad it HAS to be on purpose.

As noted above, they haven't been remotely competitive since Week 6 or so. I guess we'll see if they're competitive against Carolina after their bye week. That could be the last chance they have to avoid going 0-16.

I still can't believe that people actually get pissed because their team is winning. Fuck the draft, I'm thrilled that I actually have something to look forward to each week! I'll take a win any day of the week, and sometimes Sundays too. Like I said in my previous post, Tebow may have only been 2 for 8, but he looked better than he has. 5 of his 8 passes were long bombs that even good QBs don't make a ton of (hell, long bombs don't make up 63% of any other QB's passes on any other team) and his 3 shorter passes had 1 catch, 1 bad drop, and 1 ugly pass. Tebow is being hit by 2 wild extremes- 1 side feels like he's the greatest thing to ever happen to football and the other side feels like he's a failure since he's not doing awesome yet. He is getting better.... let's let him actually fail before we declare him a complete failure.

And, if Denver really wants a new QB, there's supposedly going to several good ones spread throughout the first and second rounds. We're not going to miss all of them, We just won't get the precious Luck.
Matt Schaub out for the season with a foot injury. Backup QB Matt Leinart will start next week against the Jaguars.
And just like that, the Texans have found their way back out of the playoffs.

Andrew Luck may not even be the best quarterback in the draft. In fact, I'll wager a healthy amount that after the rookie contracts for the 2012 draft class are up, he's not the best.

I don't know about that. The Texans' remaining schedule is pretty favorable, and with their running game and defense (and with Andre Johnson returning soon), there won't be as much pressure on Leinart.

I was mistaken about them playing the Jaguars next week, though. They're on a bye next week, and then they play the Jaguars on the 27th.

There is no such thing as a favorable schedule when you are sending Matt Leinart out there :guffaw:

Poor Houston :(

Schaub's really not a significantly better quarterback than Leinart. It's not like Houston just lost someone of the caliber of Manning, Brady, or Rodgers.

I'm fired up to see the legendary Tyler Palko in person next Monday in NE.

I thought I'd see a pair of division winners with intriguing storylines squaring off, but I'll take a slaughterfest instead gladly.

The Packers/Vikings game they are showing tonight is undoubtedly lame. No wonder the Cheeseheads are undefeated so far this season,..ANY referee team seems to have there sunglasses on when it comes to them. I have seen so many blatantly uncalled penalties on Green Bay that haven't been called!!!!! :barf::censored:

NUH UHHHH IT'S THE REFS NOT CALLING THE PENALTIES CONSIPRACYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always figured Manning meant a ton to his team. And hey, sometimes teams with great QBs even will regress for a year or two. But I think the Colts seriously have embraced Suck for Luck. A guy like that should end up on a real perennial loser to help right the franchise. That's the whole point of a draft. 0-10 Colts? Shady. I get the feeling I'll be cheering against them for the next 15 years.

This is why I think the NBA's draft lottery is one of the few things they've done right. Guaranteeing a team the best draft pick for losing the most games is just begging for the system to be abused.

The Packers really are that good... and the Vikings really are that bad.
No, not really from what I've seen. Are they as good as one of the elite? Possibly.

NUH UHHHH IT'S THE REFS NOT CALLING THE PENALTIES CONSIPRACYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You certainly love replying about conspiracies to support your voice. Can't you come up with anything better???? :wtf:

Schaub has not been playing that well this season, the Texans have been running the ball more often. I'm not seeing a huge drop off for the Texans. The Texans will still win the division and be in the playoffs. The question now is how long will they last in the playoffs. Make no mistake about it, the Texans are still a good team, and the Titans are only dreaming if they think they can take the division.

If you can't tell that the Packers are the best team in the league, then I know that nothing will change your mind... but geez.
