2011 NFL Season - A New Game

I'm no Cutler fan.... I will fully admit that I may or may not have squealed like a little girl during those talks last season about him being a wimp and a quitter. But that's a crappy situation right there. Martz needs to be removed from Chicago before Cutler's career comes to an extremely early end with him drinking all of his meals through a straw. In fact, Martz should probably be removed from the NFL before his body count gets to be too much higher.

True enough, but it's still Martz's responsibility as offensive coordinator to make his scheme fit the players he has available.

Exactly right. And then it's Smith's job to make sure Martz isn't going to get his QB killed.

Lovie needs to exercise some of his so-called authority.

And if Martz has 10 years worth of sack-filled history, one has to wonder if there's something wrong with his way of doing things. After so many years/ teams/ players/ schemes, eventually the blame has to start drifting towards the common element in all of those equations.

In his last season in Denver, Cutler was sacked 11 times in 16 games. This season, he's been sacked 11 times in 2 games.

This doesn't apply to anyone here, but that statistic should make even the most fervent Cutler hater who thinks Cutler is solely responsible for his woes STFU. Surprisingly those people tend to be pretty vocal on football forums.

Jerry Angelo defends Bears' OL

"We did everything you could possibly do to that [offensive line] position," Angelo told the Bears' website. "Nobody did more than the Chicago Bears."
Clearly the man has a different idea than the rest of the world of what "everything" means.

:wtf: In what universe does letting a team leader like Olin Kreutz go and drafting a rookie who will take time to develop count as doing as much as they possibly could? In the Chicago Bears universe, apparently.

No, they don't have $18 million in cap space or anything to get some real offensive linemen...

As I said earlier, the line would still be awful with Kreutz; his value was as the undisputed captain of the locker room (which is huge).

It's that they have fucking Frank Omiyale to replace rookie Gabe Carimi, just for one example. Jesus Christ. "Did everything you could possibly do" my ass.

Does that referee in the Titans/Broncos game who was far away from the Nate Washington catch and overruled the close official who actually saw it get credit for defending a pass?

^That was a horrible replay by the refs. I'm not sure how they managed it, but the ref blew it.

That loss hurt. After the last two years, seeing Denver lose on a final drive mistake is nothing new. But losing via interception while we're in field goal range really stings. I'm not a merry man right now. I loved the call to go for it on 4th and goal from the one, but those three points sure would have been nice at the end. Our rush defense looked great. Our pass defense didn't show up.... I'm trying to figure out how they only got 17 points. Offense was erratic.

If you'll excuse me... I need to go buy some beer.

I watched the game, and I still don't believe it. The Buffalo Bills actually beat the Patriots. 4 picks on Tom Brady. it's... I actually kinda got choked up a little. First time we've beaten the pats since September 2003. This team is for real. I still don't think we're Super Bowl bound, but if we can beat New England, I don't think a wild-card spot is out of the question!

Bills & Lions both 3-0, though Buffalo beat a much better team today.

It's the seventh sign!

^ Whoah, that's weird.

Also weird that the Bills have scored 41, 38 & 34 so far, but they are getting fewer points each week.

Well, Chan Gailey's the head coach. I wouldn't expect the Bills' success to continue forever. ;)

I'm on the phone with God right now apparently the Football Reality Control Server is malfunctioning... we'll be rolling out a hotfix tonight. (WOOOOO BUFFALO!!!!!)

Oh dear, is Philadelphia going to be out a great deal of money on their QB with the fractured hand? Tsk, tsk, tsk....I said it last year, that dumbass isn't a pocket quarterback; he's going to run around and get hurt--again--and be useless in the end. And, of course, he was whining about it being a late hit with no flag. Tony Romo the wuss played with a broken rib, you tool. The defense is supposed to hit you, you loser. Dream team? I think not. Not unless Kafka is worth $100 million. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Kevin Kolb now? Philadelphia's management must be filled to capacity with utter fools.
