2011 NFL Season - A New Game

I live in New England and I am happy we get the chance to avenge that Superbowl loss Go Pats beat the NY Giants and it will be wicked awesome!!!

Well whatever, people will always hate the Pats and Brady because they win, and are extremely good at what they do. They'll hate Belichick because he isn't Mr. Personable and always makes his team play 60 mins, even if it means running up the score, and because they probably wish he was the head of coach of THEIR team.

Wrong, the league was in turmoil all year because of the strike. Yes they win because the other teams really screwed themselves by playing the way they did, Ravens included. lets not forget that Belichek can't video tape other teams practices...;).
The way the Giants are playing in the first 3 quarters, I feel they are the stronger team.

The ratings for this year's SB should be very high. Over the next two weeks, the media will do nothing but shouting...

REMATCH! REMATCH!

The NFL must be loving this. :p

Did anybody else see Weatherford running off the field, with FOX doing a slow-motion close-up, and he is clearly saying "We're going to the motherfucking Super Bowl!!!!"

I wonder what the FCC will have to say about that one.
Yeah I saw it. But it looked like; "HOLY FUCK!!!! We are going to the SuperBowl!!!

Wait, are you saying they won this year because other teams were screwed up because of the lock out? Doesn't that just prove the point that they are very well run organization, if they are able to pull off a successful season while other teams struggle?

They are 139-53 since he took over. If that isn't dominance I don't know what is.

Cause that worked out so well for the College Football MNC.

The difference is both the Patriots and Giants earned their way back to the championship by going through the playoffs. A computer didn't pick them to automatically play for the championship. If the NFL used the BCS, the Super Bowl would probably be Green Bay vs. New Orleans.

The Broncos' Dennis Allen is getting a second interview for that Raiders job. I will be royally, royally pissed if the Raiders steal our guy. Not only has Allen been doing a great job for us, but also we will get our 7th or 8th DC in as many years if he leaves. Our D will never improve if we can't keep a guy in there running it for more than a season. Hell, one major reason we got Champ Bailey to resign with us was the promise of some long awaited stability on that side of the ball.

I think the 49ers disprove the idea that the lockout prevented teams from playing well. They had a lot of new players and a new coach and still did exceptionally well. And I'm saying this as an Eagles fan who would love nothing more than to blame our shaky season on just not having enough time to gel together before the season.

I know it's some sort of sacrilege for a guy who loves the Eagles (but not more than the Titans), but I've never hated the Giants - really, I kinda like them. And one of my happiest sports memories was watching them Eli and co. beat pretty-boy Brady in the Superbowl.

So I for one am looking forward to the parallels continuing. :mallory:

Sorry, but the Patriots are on a big revenge tour this season. First they swept the Jets, who knocked them out of the playoffs last year, then they beat the Broncos, who knocked them out of the playoffs in 2006, and then they beat the Ravens, who knocked them out of the playoffs in 2009. Now all that's left are the Giants, who of course defeated the Patriots in the Super Bowl in 2007 and ruined their would-be perfect season.

'Tis destiny, I'm afraid. :p

I'd rather have the one ring from 2007

to rule them all? :p

I thought that game was the perfect illustration of Football. Nothing should be taken for granted. That's why I was glad that Pats lost that one.

Technically speaking, the Giants won more recently, which makes me think I'd prefer the Pats. I'm still routing for a meteorite slamming into Lucas Oil Stadium.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

I fucking hate the Patriots.

Right on. That the Patriots could get their 4th Super Bowl win in Peyton's house is sick-making, but even worse is the notion that Tom Brady will be dressing for the game in Peyton's locker. Even though they're friends off the field, I still call that blasphemy. But I love the fact that we'll still have Eli in lieu of Peyton to defend Lucas Oil Stadium.

So, it's to be a rematch of what I consider the greatest Super Bowl ever played. I don't know how the sequel can possibly live up to the original. I just hope the end result will be similar.
