2011 MLB Season Discussion

We're pulling out ALL the stops!

Be warned from a Mets fan, he's also likely to pull out all his hamstrings.

Heh! I didn't think we needed any help in the first place. We got our scrappy guys to play their usual game in that case. So long as he doesn't land himself on the 60 day DL or 4 iterations of the 15, we're fine.

Anyone else find it kind of sad that Beltran is already the Giants' leader in just about every offensive category this season?

:techman:

We paid a high price this time, though. I almost would rather we kept either Singleton or Cosart and traded Brown instead. I think time will tell for that, though.

Still, it shows that Ed Wade has been a more helpful GM working for the Astros than his time here.

I know this is a Knee-Jerk overreaction on my part, but since the Beltran trade, the Giants are 1-3 and Beltran is like 2-15 or something around there. Not only that, but now the Giants have Orlando Cabrera which is a trade I'm iffy on, and I can't help but wonder why they got swept by the Reds this weekend. Not a good way to start that playoff push with the so-called better hitter in the line up.

Meh, I'll give the benefit of the doubt. As Kruk and Kuip have been saying throughout the past few broadcasts: it's going to take a while for the new guys to get comfortable. They have to not only adjust to the new clubhouse dynamic, but deal with the distractions of getting family et al settled in for life in their new home in San Francisco.
I'll buy those ideas.

A lengthy homestand and the AT&T park energy ought to put them at ease and back to hitting on all cylinders.

That's how you know to flip your calendar to August, he's gets traded at the deadline every year it seems.

I still really wish the Mets dealt Reyes. There's no way they afford him next year. And they blew it on the Beltran trade. They got back one prospect with an ERA of 4.

You got good prospects. If you are capable of keeping them, you might do well. That's about all I can say. The problem was that wasn't a single loss for your team.

Exorcism indeed today!

EIGHT to one!

With those feel-goods in the system, I'll try that IPA I bought yesterday, tonight.

Another Jeter observation: in 86 games he has 101 hits...if he could have played in 162 he'd be close to 200 hits again this year. Amazing.

RAMA
