Uncle Mo has been scratched due to infection.

And in an odd twist, John Velazquez was supposed to ride Uncle Mo but has now switched to Animal Kingdom, whose original jockey broke his nose on Wednesday.
 
Where do they come up with these names for the horses? I always wondered about that.

And down the stretch they come...Tickle My Asshole opens up a 2 length lead over Happytime Poo Face!

They have to pick a name that's not already registered to another horse. So when they send the paperwork off, they'll brainstorm 20 different possible names in case the first choice has already been claimed.

And I just realized that the owner of Stay Thirsty is actually the founder of Vitaminwater. Now that's appropriate! :rofl:
 
I think Dialed In has a very good chance, but you won't win much on him since the odds are good.

Pants on Fire will probably get a large number of bets due to being ridden by the (possible) first female jockey to win.
 
^My girlfriends on Twitter all reminded me that I have to bet on Pants On Fire for that reason.

In all seriousness, in the Kentucky Oaks yesterday, Rosie Napravnik had a horse that broke badly and managed to come from behind to finish second in a photo finish. She did it by running an excellent race, and that might set her up to do the same today.

And speaking of Twitter, it looks like Stay Thirsty seems to be trending even if #kentuckyderby isn't.
 
Well, so much for that $25. I bet on 5 different horses and none of my bets got me anything.
