2010 books set in the alt. timeline of JJ Abrams Star Trek movie

Regarding these set of books, how are they going to be titled? For instance we have the Titan novels, Star Trek The Next Generation, Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Vanguard, we have Star Trek (as referencing TOS), so how are the publishers going to ID these books as being movie timeline novels vs. TOS timeline novels? Do all TOS novels going forward have additional nomenclature like ...a 'Star Trek Prime' novel... or something like that?

I have to presume the cover art will obviously clue the reader in to the fact that the book is in the new timeline with a pic of the nu-Ent or representations of the new cast.

My guess is that the cover art should suffice. If you see Chris Pine and Simon Pegg on the cover, it's set in the new timeline. If you see William Shatner, it's TOS.

And I imagine there will be some sort of copy along the lines of:

"A thrilling new novel inspired by the hit movie!"


At least that's what I would do . . . .

I go the simple route. When he shows up in a blue shirt at a science station, then he'll be in the science division. Till then he's a command track officer who is cross training in science and engineering because thats what command training requires.

I'm glad I read this thread. I'll have to take a closer look at how I described Chekov's duties when I get the copyedited manuscript for More Beautiful Than Death.
