Emily Rose was the young blond recurring doctor during the final season of ER. I never watched Jericho.
I found a Zap2It thread where people are rating the pilot scripts. They're raving about how well written Rex is.
I believe Emily was in the 2nd eason of Jericho playing the female worker from J&R who tips off Mimi I think about there corupt side of the corporation.
Ahh yes Cutthroat, aka Weeds 3.0.
But yeah, I don't think people realize how important a lead actor is to a show. If MLP wasn't the lead of Weeds it would have bombed.
Fox is developing Terra Nova, a sci-fi series about a family from 100 years in the future who time travel back 150 million years into the past. Steven Spielberg is in negotiations to come on board as an exec producer. If the show gets the green light Fox may order it straight to series since shutting down production after shooting a pilot would be too costly. You can read the full report from Variety here.
There's a rumor that Jamie Bamber is the frontunner to play the lead in The Walking Dead.
I wonder how long it will take for someone to blame a real-world case of backpackers being arrested for being "CIA agents" on this show and sue the CW?Nomads - an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride following a group of nearly broke young backpackers traveling the world who agree to earn money by working secret missions for the CIA.

Sounds like it would be fun just for the visuals (but can they afford to make it look passable on a TV budget?)
The Station
A covert CIA operative and his workmates are embedded in a South American country and must navigate their mission to install a new dictator in this banana republic with its own unique set of challenges.
Given the current state of US affairs over the last... well, century; this show won't do well overseas.
24 still kills overseas and the writers have kinda been shooting back against critics of torture used by the US by showing how it works on 24 and then having the head of the committee who was bringing charges against Jack end up killed by terrorists![]()

Yeah, I chuckled at how they portrayed that weenie librul senator for DARING to question Jack's propensity for torture! Doesn't the silly fool realize that Jack is a superior human being who can be counted on to make the tough choices that safeguard Senator Weenie, undeserving as he might be?
I think it's pretty clear that what succeeds in foreign markets is just the same as what succeeds domestically - fast, exciting action! People care a lot less about politics than they do about being entertained by something brainless and fun.
Shit My Dad Says just became a must-see. Here's why.![]()
If there's a list of the top foreign markets for American television, the UK has to be in the top three - and 24's tanking here.
The nature of the show doesn't help its ratings. Most people would rather just get the DVDs for £15 and then just have a boxed set weekend.
Someday, somebody's gotta find us a list of foreign TV ratings - weird that the Nielsens are available all over the place but not for any other country.
Well that means it's tanking because it's serialized, not because of the content. And that applies to American ratings too, which is why serialized shows are still definitely the minority while police procedurals and sitcoms still dominate. If there's a list of the top foreign markets for American television, the UK has to be in the top three - and 24's tanking here.
