Of note, they have chosen this year (when the owners are in bankruptcy and the race (was) in danger of being auctioned) to ban people from bringing their own beer to the infield, which has, predictably, gutted ticket sales. So, if you're looking to go, there are plenty of tickets available.

At least the beers they're selling are only $3.50, but still.

Beer at sporting events is overrated anyway. You just end up all hot and sweaty and too sloppy to pay attention to the action. Not to mention pissing every 10 minutes.

Where do they come up with these horse names anyway? They're so odd. Its always something like Tickle My Buggers, or Bunghole's Whimsy.

It's always fun to watch a girl run with the boys and beat them at their own game. And I'm still blown away by the jockey's comments that she didn't like the track!

My guess is that they won't run her in the Belmont, since Mine That Bird would have beat her in another 1/4 mile. But still, she gave us a great race.
