TOS got its subtitle after the creation of the later series. If the '09 film got a subtitle, what should it be? The Original Movie doesn't work - TMP was the first Trek movie.

I seem to remember a couple of early promotional things calling it The Future Begins, unless my memory is making that up.TOS got its subtitle after the creation of the later series. If the '09 film got a subtitle, what should it be? The Original Movie doesn't work - TMP was the first Trek movie.

I thought that was a tagline.
It was, but it was used in such a way that it kinda felt like the title in certain ads (much like Edge of Tomorrow with its "Live Die Repeat" tagline). Audio, specifically, not so much in trailers.
The other two film titles lack a colon and are about going somewhere, so it should probably fit that pattern.

Pretty sure it was called Star Trek: The Future Begins in some countries.
I remember some folks using "Begins" in a disparaging fashion when it came out (since it wasn't all that long after Batman Begins), but it's actually pretty good name, just could never call it that because Batman used it first -- same reason they probably used the pretentious "The Motion Picture", since "Superman: The Movie" had only come out a couple years earlier.
Drop the subtitle altogether and call it Start Trek.
