I've seen Milk recently, which gets **** from me. A fantastic return to narrative storytelling from Gus Van Sant, who admittedly is working from a genuinely touching script from newcomer Dustin Lance Black and a truly mesmerizing performance from Sean Penn.
I likely won't see all the films I want to still see before the year is out (Valkyrie, Doubt, Slumdog Millionaire, Let the Right One In, Revolutionary Road, The Reader, The Wrestler...just to name a few) but I did see The Spirit thanks to my cousin who wouldn't sit through Valkyrie and I must say...I thought Jumper was my worst film of 2008, and now I have a new winner. It wasn't godawful, but it was one of those laughably bad movies where you know it's horrible but you go along with it anyway.
I'm not even going to give it the previledge of a star rating.
