2008 DVD Watching Challenge

It's a new year and a new year brings a new challenge. How much of your entire DVD collection can you watch in one year? Can you watch it all? Can you watch half of it? Get into old favorites, re-watch the stuff you love. This is the place to track and show off what you've been watching and how much of your collection you are getting through this year. Might only get through 10%? That's fine. The challenge is just for fun to see how much you can watch and what you do watch.

This time, the thread won't be stickied, but regularly keeping up with what you watch or marking the thread as a favorite will keep it handy at all times.

Feel free to list what you've watched lately, what you've watched the whole year so far...however you want to handle it. Let the challenge begin!

I will be glad to join in, though I won't be able to add much for a month or so. Some people move in a week. Me, it's taking 4 months.

I CAN add a Christmas gift - Life Goes On, Season 1.

I really enjoyed watching this again. The nostalgia factor is HUGE. I am VERY frustrated, though, that aside from the pilot episode, the intro music was changed (probably a rights/royalties issue). You only get the "O-Bla-Dee, O-Bla-Daa" song with the pilot. :( Fortunately, the episodes all have a chapter break that skips the awful replacement song.

I should be finished My So-Called Life today, seeing as I only have left the episode I'm watching right now, and the last one.

Good show, shame it was canceled (or whatever).

Thanks to the writer's strike I'm watching nuthin' but DVDs.

On my pile:
Two and a Half Men
Slayers
Newsradio S5 (only year I didn't watch)
Heroes
Earth Two
Loonatics
Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi High

And coming this month: Curb Season Six, New Adventures Christine, and at long last TORCHWOOD!

I'll take part even though my collection is small. Who knows, maybe it will be a way to actually remember the movies I watch, so I will add movies I rent on DVD. It will be hard with TNG since I'm up to Season 4 and don't plan on watching the beginning of the series again unless maybe late in the year.

Season 7 of West Wing and 3 episodes of Lost Season 2 so far this New Year.

Planning to do:

B5
The Wire
The Shield
Deep Space Nine
The Sopranos

All along side the DVD's I get from Blockbuster Online (looking at Charlie Jade/Medium/Oz s2-6 for Jan/Feb)

Hugo - going to try and cram in as much as possible before his new training scheme starts in April/May '08

I just watched DOA: Dead or Alive. I still can't decide who's hotter, Sarah Carter or Holly Valance. ;)

Tough choice. I'd give Sarah Carter a slight edge.

I've watched 3 more episodes of Lost season 3.

This time I'm just gonna list DVDs that I own.

So far I've worked my way through:

1. Stargate SG1 Season 1
2. Scrubs Season 2

Working on:

1. Stargate SG1 Season 2
2. Primeval Series 1

I'm actively looking forward to participating this year, but this topic really deserves a sticky.

- Six Feet Under, Seasons 1 - 5
- Star Dust
- Terminator
