^ And once AGAIN, might I remind you that this situation is not like 'alot of what goes on around this place'. That has been the whole point of what Bonz and I have been trying to get across to you guys in both of these threads. And I really do not know how much clearer we can be on the matter.

This is a unique situation. Unless, of course, you know any other Trek actors who come here with any sort of regularity and post as themselves.

Now, do you think that you would want to say what you said above to Chase Masterson's face, should you meet her in person? Would you seriously 'joke around' with her that she should be banned, if she was standing in front of you right now?

If you wouldn't say it directly to her face right this moment, then don't say it here. Because since she is a poster here, we must assume that she is reading every SINGLE word said in this forum.

Personally, I think it's great that one of the actors on the show takes the time to come here. And why any of us would want to say anything vulgar or potentially hurtful to or about her is really beyond my comprehension.

All I can say is that if Avery Brooks ever stops in here, you guys better be on your best behavior without any of this drama like we've had the last few days. Or you'll ALL be lookin' at a personal ass-kickin' from me!

Well, yes I would say it to her face because IT WAS A JOKE! Not only was it a joke, it was a very light hearted joke based on something she said in an interview probably several weeks ago about her boyfriend. She answered a serious question and then threw that 'plus he's hot' comment in there as a joke herself.
The whole banning Chase thing is a separate joke within the joke because we all know that she actually was banned at one point. When it was all sorted out, Chase accepted that situation with grace and class and continued to come back here.

I assume that Chase has a very good sense of humor, and wouldn't take my original comment seriously. In fact I doubt most people in their right mind would have thought that I actually wanted her banned.

Now, that said, I can understand why you have a problem with my comment because of the crap that happened in the other thread and you didn't want that continuing here.
Frankly, I wouldn't want to be a moderator on this board with all the douchebaggery and general numb-nuttery that happens here. For that, PKTrekGirl you have my respect and admiration.

I've got to side with Kirby, I saw absolutely no malice in what he said, and if gentle ribbing is going to be outlawed then posting will drop by roughly 68%. The story of Chase's ban has been a near-legendary source of humour on this board for as long as I have been here, and nobody is laughing at Chase Masterson over the incident, that has all been directed at Emh for being the one to ban her. Nearly every time that a new mod is announced somebody makes a joke about Emh and the Chase Masterson incident.

The right move was made last week, I found the way those guys were talking about Chase to be off-putting even before she showed up. But in this case I think that Kirby was just engaging in some light-hearted banter, the sort of thing you'd see regularly on this board between fellow members.


Now if we could get that thread about Ezri being flat-chested closed we'd be on a roll, otherwise we run the risk of somebody bumping it again in 6 months.

1. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that this issue is somehow open for discussion. It is NOT. Bonz could not BE more serious in her feelings about this issue. And arguing with ME about it is utterly pointless, because I have received my instructions on this issue from the top. And I intend to follow those instructions.

Now, if you guys want to keep on going with the protestations, you are doing so at your own peril. Because I promise you, if Bonz makes another appearance on this issue in here, I would NOT want to the the poster who caused it.

2. Once again, you are extrapolating the instructions we have been given about this ONE UNIQUE SITUATION with Chase Masterson, and are trying to turn it into a big honkin' drama with comments like this:

You know damn well that 'gentile ribbing' is not being outlawed on this board. The ONLY thing that is going on here is that we have received specific instructions about a very narrow set of circumstances - instructions about how to approach posting about a DS9 actress who is also a poster here - a unique situation that is not duplicated with ANY OTHER POSTER ON THIS BOARD (since no other posters are Trek actors), NOR WITH ANY OTHER TREK ACTOR (since no other Trek actors are posters on this board except for the extremely rare one-off every 3-4 years or so).

Turning this into a big honkin' drama about how we are 'outlawing' gentle ribbing in general on TrekBBS is not a discussion that will serve you well. Because a) that is not what we are doing; and b) everyone - including you - KNOWS that is not what we are doing. So arguing about it is only going to annoy the Boss Lady. She has posted in here twice about this issue already, which in her mind is twice too many. Pressing her for a third appearance is really, really ill-advised.

Now, since I don't see much in the way of other discussion taking place in this thread, I am going to save you guys from yourselves here and simply close it. Because the next Notify Mod that hits the BR about this issue is gonna bring down the Wrath on Bonz on this place...and I'd really like to avoid that, if at all possible.

Some day, you will thank me for this.
