1975 cup/plate image looks more like Jim Parsons than Shatner

On the left is the Sheldon Cooper Star Trek bobblehead and on the right is the image from the 1975 cups and plates. The 1975 artwork looks a lot more like Jim Parsons than the bobblehead does and it certainly doesn't look much like William Shatner.

This I can see. It's a terrible job, but I can see it. In fact, it looks like this was the photo that was mimicked for it

Parsons was two years old in 1975, so there is definitely something paranormal about all of this.
