1966 Batman series on Blu-ray and DVD November 2014 discussion

What mass-murdering psychopath? We're talking about a Joker whose plan to contaminate the Gotham reservoir involved turning the water supply into strawberry jam. This is the Silver Age Joker, who was interested in committing spectacular burglaries or con games with a humorous twist or just plain enormous pranks. Sure, he'd kill Batman and Robin if he could, but that was just part of the game. The mass-murderer Joker didn't return until the '70s.
An excellent place to post this.
:guffaw:Need I say anything more?

Or rather, the murderer Joker returned in the '70s. He didn't really become a mass murderer until The Dark Knight Returns.

I suppose it depends on the definition of mass murderer (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_murder). He killed or nearly killed five people from his old gang in 'the jokers five way revenge.' He wiped out entire family including the kids in 'death has the last laugh' and he murdered several government bureaucrats over the course of 'the laughing fish.'

I was in. But I just went to buy it at the online store and they want 9.99 for it. I'm not paying 10 bucks for a Batman comic book, let alone an online one.

You can buy a standard paper version for $2.99 at most comic book stores.

Not of the Batman '66: The Lost Episode special. It really is a $9.99 print book. In format, it's a square-bound book that's reminiscent of the old-school prestige format book. The cover isn't as sturdy as the old prestige formats, but I shelved it on my graphic novel bookcase nonetheless.

I'm watching the Blu-Ray of the series right now, and it's funny how the Gotham Police Department is constantly in a snow belt. I mean, even if someone in the episode says its July, whenever Batman and Robin drive up to GCPDHQ there is always snow on the building and snow melting in the street. (Obviously the producers shot the scene for the pilot and then just reused the shot.)

But I've also been testing the video to see how it would look zoomed into a 16:9 ratio and it's surprising, but it seems as though the producers were shooting the series with 16:9 protection (I guess they were figuring that if they needed to use some footage in the feature film they would need the footage to work in the widescreen format).

I would be extremely disappointed, as I am whenever I come across a non-OAR presentation of a movie or TV show.

Thank you.
