15 years ago - 5/23/94

It's been 15 years (5/23/94) since the last TNG episode aired.

Has it been that long? I guess yes is the answer.

 Oh, God, I remember it like it was yesterday.

So do I. 1994 was one of the best years of my life, and NOT just because of Star Trek.

Good times....

Though, to be honest, I was sick as a dog the night it aired. I also remember it for that.

I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that I measure the years of my life by Trek's milestones!

I wish i was old enough to remember trek the first time around.(i hav purchased and watched all 7 seasons of the nex gen to make up for it). I was 4 when the last episode aired lol, so for me thats gone pretty quik, speaking of age, its my 19th on the 31st =D

I was in music college...not keeping up with TNG, but I caught the finale. In some ways, it feels like a few years ago, in some ways, longer than 15.

If that was aimed at me, you'll notice I said it was one of the best years of my life NOT just because of Star Trek. :bolian:

I don't think it was "aimed" at you. But your comment made me recall things in my life and how Trek was around at those points. :)

I can't believe how casual I was about things like this back then. It's too bad now that I'm old enough to appreciate TV shows, there are no more new shows like TNG that could get me so excited about their finale that I could think of it as a big event. I remember watching TNG as a kid. I watched it the same time every day, and I don't even know if I was watching re-runs or first run episodes. It was on at 6 in the evening (obviously not prime time) and shortly before the finale, I saw there was an article in TV guide about the final episode airring the next week and it meant nothing to me. I was too young and dumb to realize it signaled the end of an era of my childhood.

I just thought, "oh, cool", and I don't even remember if I watched the episode. I must have watched that show at the same time every night for years and I took it for granted. When it ended, the magnitude of the event didn't dawn on me. I had no idea it had run for seven seasons or even how many of those I watched it for. It would have helped if I had someone else to watch it with like family or friends. :( Being part of this board is going to make watching the series finale of DS9 soon much more fun, I think. I can have the Star Trek finale water cooler conversation I never got to have after "All Good Things...".

There has never been a finale on any show as good as TNG's ... I was 9/almost 10 when the last episode aired and I still remember making every new episode an event I could not miss ... I watched the show religiously like I watched no other.

I remember feeling a little sad.

TNG started when I was 14, so it was with me till I was 21. I'd gone from never having kissed a girl to, well, a lot more...did a stint in the army and just started university.

Good memories.
