Make a wish!

...or something. I missed it. Maybe I'll catch it again when noon rolls around.

Isn't today the last day something like this will ever happen. Once we hit 13, it's pretty much impossible right?

1/1/2101. not that anyone here will live to see it. (probably)

its just dates though, i mean if we had 25 months it'd run to 25/25/2025 for example and no one would care.

Well, it's the last time it will happen for a really, really long time.

Bring on January 1, 2101!

you're Australian? Over it's 08:36 am now
By 12:12 I'll be in a meeting *sigh* but at least there'll be cookies and cakes and tea :)

^ Candlelight is a Kiwi. As when he was posting this thread it was 10.28am here.

Continues to laugh.

I kinder made reference to it earlier on FB. Interesting, seen many posts - saying it's no big deal.

^ I saw there was an article about children who were born on this day.

Also, was speaking to someone I know, and they have a work person, who got married today at 12.12pm in Fiji.

I pity kids that were born on Dec 12th - that shortly before Christmas they'll get much fewer presents. I'm lucky: I'm born in spring, have my patron saint day in fall (in catholic regions that's liek a b-day: cake, presents and all =) ) and in between both are the summer vacations and Christmas. Perfectly distributed.

I look forward to this date synchronicity every year. Can't wait for 13/13/13 and 14/14/14 after that. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk ...

My brother was born on the 14th which is two days worse. I wonder what happens with people who were born on Christmas or their respective festive holiday. Do they get more gifts? During the family Christmas dinner are they kind of ignored?

I'm Catholic, and I've never heard of having a "Patron Saint Day". Maybe it's more of a regional thing?

As for having a birthday near Christmas, my daughter has hers between Christmas and New Year's. We make a point to not skip over her birthday in the way of presents or anything. That's mostly from my wife being annoyed at her grandparents - her sister's birthday is in December, and the grandparents very often just combined Christmas and birthday in one present, if they remembered her birthday at all.

Thank GOD!

Because I fail to see the significance (or what is neat) about all of the numbers of the date being the same.

Because I fail to see the significance (or what is neat) about all of the numbers of the date being the same.

How can you not see it's neatness? According to my dictionary it is the very definition of neatness:

neat/.../
1. in a pleasingly orderly and clean condition: a neat room.
2. habitually orderly and clean in appearance or habits: a neat person.
3. of a simple, pleasing appearance, style, design, etc.: a neat cottage

I don't see the big deal either.

People are just all, "OMG! It's 12/12/12!" Me: "Yeah... And?!"

Do you think people in 1912 did the same thing? In 1812? So what, all of the numbers of the date are the same and only because you've lopped off he first two numbers of the year and turned the name of the month into a number. The only thing significant about today is that both Americans and Europeans can understand the other's numerical abbreviation for the date.

I don't even see why it's so "neat". So a bunch of numbers line up? Big fuckin' deal. Is it "neat" when it's 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44 or 5:55?
