12 Upcoming Remakes Of Hollywood Sci-Fi Classics

Remake of Creature From the Black Lagoon? Um, no. I veto that. And anyone who actually does try to remake it will find themselves in a world of hurt. But only temporarily, as I will kill them quickly.

LOGAN'S RUN and FANTASTIC VOYAGE seem like prime remake material, although I'll believe it when I see it. They've been talking about remaking LOGAN for ages now .

One positive side of remakes that's seldom discussed. Invariably, it means we get deluxe new DVD editions of the classic originals.

If remakes help keep the originals in print and in the public eye, more power to them.

I've always wanted to see a proper adaption of Fahrenheit 451, one of my favourite books. The last movie version wasn't so hot IMO

For ones like When Worlds Collide & Logan's Run it's been a while to be fair so I wouldn't really mind seeing an updated version.

Whereas I just don't get remaking Robocop. Especially when its such a stone cold killer classic
I agree with you on the 451 comment. Robocop has been discussed in the last year and the *hope* is that it's not a remake, but rather a continuation.

While I usually find most remakes to be shit there are a few here and there that I find atleast on par with the originals.

Out of that list the only ones I would be interested in are Logans Run and Flash Gordon. The fact that they are remaking Robocop is :scream:.

The only remake that I've ever felt was truly superior to the original was John Carpenters The Thing vs the original Howard Hawkes The Thing from Outer Space. It's significantly closer to the original short story "Who Goes There?" and exactly what that kind of movie should be.

I'm wondering what a decent director and script could do for "Buck Rogers", that's well overdue.

Maybe 10 more years...then Gil Gerard can get the same type of cameo Buster Crabbe did when he guest starred on the series -- a great nod to the past!

I've toyed with writing a script, just for myself cos no way think anyone would be interested, but my vision was having Gil Gerard and Erin Gray playing Buck's parents before he leaves on his mission.

Be great to see Gerard saying "Well son, in my day space travel was a lot more dangerous."
