I wouldn't mind the sceniro that Starkers came up with...although I would like a story in series five where The Eleventh Doctor meets Captain Jack on some planet or space walkabout and turns him in the right direction. Jack has been inspired by the Doctor before, perhaps this more "joyful" Doctor would do the same. I can imagine Jack's reaction after meeting Amy Pond, "I don't know how you manage to find all of these gorgeous looking creatures as companions Doctor..." and then the Doctor with the "Shut it...don't even think about it Jackkkkk..." line like the Tenth used with him on Rose.
