Vomit times 2.

Grumpy old man won't sell his book store that no one comes into anyway.

Does anyone like this episode?

It's backward too.

Janeway is proud of her spaceman ancestor.

Lies were told, she is an earthbound breeder homemaker.

3 things Janeway does not respect.

Seven says suck it up, it doesn't matter that your hero was a sack of lies, figure out how to worship her for the reasons you usually detest everyone else.

And somewhy, kathy goes along with this ass backwards logic.

Wow.

At the time, I liked it when Trek featured stories set in the present-day. I don't enjoy this episode that much now.

And her living aunt is named Martha. I didn't think she was condemned to having a family of folk names just because she was born in 24th cen Midwest.

I recall watching this the first time and thinking, Voyager's coming to an end and this is the producers trying to show off their range beyond space adventures.

I had the same feeling about Stargate Atlantis' "Vegas".

It was a fifth season episode. Voyager was still a way from ending. The NX-01 was still an unused neurotransmitter in one of Berman's neurons.

I was okay with the episode.

It was pretty odd that the local news had 24/7 live coverage of the outside of the bookstore where nothing was happening.

I didn't mind it, though I would have preferred it if Shannon's love interest, his kid, and the rest of the townspeople had been played by the regular Voyager actors, as was done in DS9's "Far Beyond the Stars." Not that I object to Janeway showcases, but "contemporary" Janeway wasn't Kathryn and so was less interesting to me.
