Since I have a cold/flu I will not be going out to celebrate New Years eve. I have a substitute plan, I am planning to watch 11:59, the episode is about 45 minutes long, so if I start at 11:15 PST, it should match up pretty well with the time of the episode. Do any of you have any type trek celebrations planned for this evening??? In any case I hope that everyone has a fun and safe evening, Happy New Year to All...

Yep, I'm going to be having my traditional holiday Trek-Marathon. I do the same thing for every holiday night, sit in my bed with my laptop on my knee, watching Star Trek. Actually I pretty much do that every night, celebration-or-no. I'm not good with the socialising and partying, and would much rather do this!

Sorry to hear you're ill 2 of 10, hope you get better soon. Sounds like a good idea, you only get one chance every 360-odd days - might as well try it at least once ;)

As I've just battled (and won!) a throat infection, I think I'll watch the countdown on TV and then pop in my TOS DVD (currently trying to work through the series) or go back to reading Vanguard. It's become like an addiction lately :p

Hope you both ^ have a good New Year. And same to anyone who posts below ;)

is that with that new girl or still with Carol? Remeber you have virgin on Sky as well, for trekkie fix

I remember last year we missed it turning midnight because we were watching DS9. This year I was playing WoW.. they had good fireworks in Orgrimmar and free booze. Hey I did go outside and listen to the all the party folks yelling in the distance for a few seconds.

Have fun 2 of 9 and get better soon! I think your 11:59 idea is excellent!

Happy new year yall...2nd post of the year 2009 lol..

Anyways,I brought in '09 by watching Stargate ,and here's the truth:There's thousands of people who rung in the new year in jail,in a combat zone,a hospital,or who didn't make it to 12:00 am,Jan. 1 2009.

I'm quite blessed to see 2009 by watching a fave movie after a long days work, and I can be grateful with the understanding that there are so many who wished they could be warm and at home with their favorite movie on the TV.

^^^^^^^
Thanks for the reminder of those who as not as fortunate as we are, I hope and pray that we all remember those who are hurting this season....
