10 Ways Trekker Arbitrarily Judges You at the Fast Food Line

^ No, I don't. It may be completely imagined, of course, but I've talked to several people who, independently, felt the same way about diet soft drinks.

Oh I'm not suggesting you're making up the effect - I'm just saying that your mate's hypothesis about it being related to the size of aspartame is erroneous. It may be a chemical result of the sweeteners, reacting in a specific way in your mouth, but it won't be anything to do with aspartame being 'big'. On your body's chemical scale, aspartame is a fairly small player.

I'm starting to think that Miscellaneous should just have a perpetually stickied "Bitch about customers / customer service / drivers / your job" thread, so every time someone feels the need to tell the world about their latest pet peeve, they can just go there.

It'd be like screaming into a pillow.

It helps.

Perhaps there should be a dedicated forum to bitching about random annoyances

Not until we get the Genital Herpes forum.

I'd love to have a recording device in Trekker4747's pillow.:lol:

Trekker, I know what you mean. I used to work at the Great American Cookie Company in my hometown mall and I couldnt stand the customers. Most were rude and just plain nasty. I pretty much didnt take their crap because the manager was my best friend and I was going into the Army in a few months.

I got an addition: NEVER be nasty to people who you make your food, but you can't see the preparation area. A few particularly nasty customers got "special" cookies from us when they demanded we make fresh ones for them.

I'm just as biological as you, and I've done nearly fours hours of exercise today, and am only having one meal. Being hungry, and actually needing to eat, are two different things.

People should eat small meals every 3-4 hours, and if you exercise 4 hrs a day...you need it even more!

I took my three year old to Mickey D's tonight for dinner after karate as a reward for her having a great lesson.

I let her order, in her cute little chipmunk voice, her chicken nugget happy meal, while I ordered one of their "heart attack on a bun" 1/3 lb angus burgers. I had Poweraide to drink.

I think Trekker just needs to get laid.

I could swear I've seen this thread before. Search doesn't go back far enough to check.

There's a site for that, right here.

That's a terrible thing to do. The person ordering the food may not even be the person who ends up eating your "special" cookies.

Drive-Thru
4. Don't leave huge amounts of space between the car in front of you!

I also agree with all of your points except this one.

If I'm sitting in a drive-thru with my engine running (for the ac) and the person ahead of me moves, I'll move with no problem. However, normally, I shut the engine off while I wait in the drive-thru. If I've done that, there's no way in hell I'm firing it up to move one car length unless the guy in front of me is the one at the window and is leaving. Anyone behind me can afford to wait a few extra seconds.

That's fine except if you're next to place your order, but can't because the line hasn't moved forward so you can reach the speaker.

Which reminds me of two more:

A) Get decent speakers!

B) Quit trying to up-sell me!

Is your order really significantly slower if you wait till you can reach the intercom before ordering? if the queue is sufficient for you to be that far back, it's not as if they'll be short of time to prepare it.

Not advancing forward in the drive-thru line creats many problems. Not the least of which it might prevent someone from reaching the speaker, but as the line wraps around the building it might even cause traffic problems in the parking lot and possibly in the street.

If the line advances, YOU advance. Simple as that.
