"10 Things You May Not Know..."

Just came across this on the web. BBC America seems to have been running this series on the web for a while, revealing trivia about episodes of Doctor Who.

Yesterday was "10 Things You May Not Know about The Name of the Doctor":

Steven Moffat planned that the episode would end with the Doctor admitting that the time rift that represents his life leads directly back to the last day of the Time War, in order to set up the story within “The Day of the Doctor” in which the Eleventh and Tenth Doctors would confront the Ninth (who would at that point have been played by a returning Christopher Eccleston) about his part in destroying Gallifrey. Clara was to have emerged from the rift furiously upset with the Doctor for this act of genocide, and screaming that she knows who he really is. In the event, Eccleston’s decision not to take part forced a rethink, and the introduction of the War Doctor.

Ah, I always suspected that Name, Day, and Time were all supposed to lead into each other much more directly (there's the bit of business where we see the TARDIS window was broken when it first crashed on Trenzalore, and the big future-TARDIS had the same broken window, indicating the Doctor was going to die before he had the chance to fix it).

I like Day of the Doctor, and I really like The War Doctor, but the thing with the 9th Doctor sounds like it would have been really awesome, and probably better then what we got (as excellent as it was).
