That's a pretty fair glimpse into the kind of music I enjoy, especially given the limitations of the 10 song list.

Earlier, someone had listed "Munster Rag" by Vince Gill. I thought that was a Brad Paisley song. Which album does Vince have it on?

5. Munster Rag, Vince Gill
No, you are absolutely correct: it is a Brad Paisley song... I have no idea why I put Vince Gill down. My best guess would be that a Gill song came up right before it, and in my mind I was trying to keep track of how many songs I was skipping by a particular artist.

So I'm not the only one who played that album to death for a few months then! Honking Antelope kicks ass though, Empty Walls I got a bit bored of.

7. Tom Jones - Are You Gonna Go My Way (Reload)

My wife's a bit of a Tom Jones fan, which took a little getting used to at first, but we both really get a kick out of Reload. But then, how can you not love Tom Jones working with members of the Divine Comedy, Manic Street Preachers, the Cardigans, and Portishead, not to mention Chrissie Hynde, among others, and covering Iggy Pop and the Talking Heads, as well as making a Lenny Kravitz song more listenable?

And here's another random list.

  1. R.E.M., "Laughing," Murmur
  2. Kush Arora, "Dem Boys," From Brooklyn To SF
  3. Donna Regina, "Slow Killer," Slow Killer
  4. Tori Amos, "Girl," Little Earthquakes
  5. Siouxsie and the Banshees, "Cocoon," A Kiss in the Dreamhouse
  6. Killing Joke, "Gratitude," Hosannas From the Basement of Hell
  7. Tom Jones and Van Morrison, "Sometimes We Cry," Reload
  8. Raveonettes, "Blitzed," Lust Lust Lust
  9. The Joy Formidable, "Cradle," A Balloon Called Moaning
  10. Gnarls Barkley, "Gone Daddy Gone," St. Elsewhere
Okay, number 7 was a surprise. Nice coincidence. Too bad it's one of my less favourite songs on the album...

Why not, another 10 from me.

Montrose - Rock the Nation
Nightwish - The Siren
Def Leppard - Photograph
Type O Negative - Too Late/Frozen
3 Doors Down - Be Like That
Johnny Cash - I See a Darkness

I'm not particularly a Tom Jones fan but there was a few artists/songs on Reload that I like so I picked it up and it's enjoyable enough if not a favourite album of mine.

I swear I think my iPhone shuffle gets into moods because it when I do shuffle it plays similar music. I like when we're synched, like when I'm driving on a sunny day and the shuffle is in the mood for fast paced rock and hip-hop.

Today's mood is "melancholy songs featuring female singers."

1. Norah Jones "Shoot the Moon" - Come Away With Me
2. The Jacksons "Can You Feel It" - Victory
3. Emiliana Torrini "Nothing Brings Me Down - Fisherman's Woman
4. Zero 7 "In Time" - When It Falls
5. Norah Jones "Sunrise" - Feels Like Home
6. Robyn "Should Have Known" - Robyn
7. the bird and the bee "love letter to japan" - ray guns are not just the future
8. Emiliana Torrini "Heartstopper" - The Fisherman's Woman
9. Sinead O'Connor "Sacrifice" - Two Rooms: A Tribute to Elton John and Bernie Taupin
10. Shai "If I Ever Fall In Love (Acapella)" - If I Ever Fall In Love

NCC1701, Korn and Limp Bizkit? Ew, ew, ew, ew.

While I will concur with the Limp Bizkit part - I'll blame my teenage lack of taste on that  - Korn is awesome, their popularity (or lack of) on the TrekBBS be damned.

AAnd here are my top 10 played songs on my Ipod according to Itunes. Im pretty sure it's bullshit, though, some of these songs I haven't listened to in months.

Yeah, it's been four years since Hypnotize/Mezmerize was released and three years since System Of A Down went on indefinite hiatus, so I've been keen to listen to anything even vaguely related to System Of A Down for the last couple of years :D

^ I still like Korn. So long as it's not the last album or Take a Look (Did My Time and Counting on Me are storming tracks though)

And SOAD remain my favourite band since I started listening to anything. I still derive real enjoyment from anything of theirs and Serj's (especially Money, Elect the Dead and Falling Stars). But I cannot listen to Scars on Broadway they didn't appeal to me at all.

1. wake the dead - Alice cooper
2. bat out of hell - meatloaf
3. storm - Vanessa Mae
4. deeper - Alice cooper
5. fight song - Marilyn manson
6. sister sara - Alice cooper

8. daddy cool - Darts
9. all we are - doro
10. superfly guy - S-express

10. "Tequila" --Wes Montgomery

I can see where you're coming from with the last album, seems a bit too much like background music for me, Evolution and Starting Over excluded. Hopefully their next album - due out next year - will be a return to form.

My personal favourites from Take a Look are Right Now and Y'all Want a Single, which are the first and last tracks on that album incidentally, the 10 songs in the middle are kinda 'meh'.

I agree 100% on the SOAD and Serj comments, I quite like Scars on Broadway too, though, a bit more rock-oriented than the metal Daron and John performed with the rest of SOAD. I've tried listening to Serart, but it's a bit too arty farty for my tastes

The weird thing is, my girlfriend likes both Serj and Scars, but not SOAD - apart from Aerials, that is, and I must agree that's probably their best song so far. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

It'd be awesome if SOAD reunited and released an album sometime soon :techman:

10 random songs:

Country Road - James Taylor
Tira Me A Las Aranas - The Mars Volta
Let's Go - The Cars
Learn To Fly - Foo Fighters
I'm Still In Love With You - New Edition
Drown - Smashing Pumpkins
I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend - The Ramones
The Days Have Turned - John Frusciante
Linus and Lucy - Vince Guaraldi Trio
Invisible - Josh Rouse

I rescind my eek, simply for having Big Boss Groove in there. :D
I have the anthology, baby. :D

Random 10? Okay:

1. "How Soon Is Now?" - The Smiths
2. "Night Comes On" - Leonard Cohen
3. "Angel On My Bike" - The Wallflowers
4. "In Your Wildest Dreams" - The Moody Blues :shifty:
5. "Vaka" - Sigur Ros
6. "A Quick One While He's Away" - The Who
7. "Dying Days" - Screaming Trees
8. "The View" - Modest Mouse
9. "Transcendental Light" - Black Lips
10. "Magic Dance" - David Bowie

My personal favourites from Take a Look are Right Now and Y'all Want a Single, which are the first and last tracks on that album incidentally, the 10 songs in the middle are kinda 'meh'.

Hahahaha I hate those two most of all!

I've tried listening to Serart, but it's a bit too arty farty for my tastes

Yeah I bought Serart when it came out and never really liked it much. The only ones I do like are Cinema, Leave Melody Counting Fear and Facing the Plastic, which are naturally the only ones Serj is singing properly on. I love that man.

Aerials SOAD's best song to date? Nah, that'd be Peephole :techman:
