[Captain Pike]

On the side of the CG model of the TARDIS console used as a backdrop for the menus on the series 5 bluray boxset (and I expect, it's probably on the dvd release too) you can see, front and centre, the numbers '10 01 56'.

Does anyone know their significance?

I thought it might represent a date. Here in Aus, we'd interpret it as 10th of Jan 1956, but I can't see how that bears any obvious relevance to Doctor Who.

Just speculating here, because I don't actually know, but that could be a date stamped on the side of a police box to indicate when it was erected or placed. The TARDIS, landing in Totter's Lane and taking on the form of a police box, could have picked up the date, much as it picked up the badge for St. John's Ambulance.

Pike is talking about the not-so-digital counter type thing on the console as far as I can see.

I still wonder if there is any significance though.

How was the date of Amy's wedding represented, British or American?

Any Easter eggs been discovered on the season 5 boxset? I remember that with the easter eggs on the first couple of Red Dwarf dvd boxsets you had to enter a code (hidden elsewhere in the menus) to reveal the easter eggs.

I don't suppose it could be anything quite so elaborate here, could it? I mean, there doesn't even seem to be an interface for anything like that, so.. Yeah, it's probably just someone's birthday or something.

On a whim, I checked for significant events on that date but turned up nothing interesting. Apparently, Elvis wrote Heartbreak Hotel on this day, and according to Wikipedia, Shawn Colvin and Antonio Muñoz Molina were also born on this day.

It's possible this could reference an event in the upcoming season. Question is whether 10-01-56 can be seen in any of the episodes...
