So check this out!
Mattel/Hot Wheels has, in stores now, 1:50th scale Refit Enterprise, Reliant, and the 1701 D.

Great pic of Reliant:

My wife just called and she picked two ships up at Wallyworld for $12 ea.

Now here's the best part. They're 1:50th scale! Says so on the website and on the package.
So let's do the math. :rommie:
The refit E is 305m long, that's 12007.85 inches, divided by 50 (for scale) and then 12 (for feet) = a 20 ft model of the refit E for 12 bucks! BOOYAH!

I can't wait for my 50ft model of the 1701-JJ!!
:guffaw:

I've seen them up-close. I'm amazed every store I saw them in at first, are now SOLD-OUT! even till this day, because the detail SUCKS!

I noticed the Ent-D is at the same scale.

I wonder how much bigger the D is than the others? It was supposed to be much larger... How big is that toy?!?

Ummm... this must be some strange usage of the term 1:50 I wasn't previously aware of. Even 1"=50' scale wouldn't work.

Wouldn't 1:50 be the size of a car? Sounds like they missed a couple of noughts. Maybe it was the credit crunch.

I bought the Reliant the other day. I'll have to take my paint brush to it and fill in some details, but for what it is it's okay.

Yeah I found one ebay listing stating the Refit-A is around 6" x 4". Why they're calling it 1:50, I have no idea.

I just saw the Ent-D, Ent-A and Reliant at a Toys R Us but now new Enterprise. I can't seem to find any pics for the new Enterprise either, they're all just straight on shots. I picked up the Ent-D, as all the Ent-A's were messed up.

 Ya, that's why I didn't buy any, they were all CRAP!:wtf: why would they do these in metal to begin with? the so-called detail is terrible, most of the ships are NOT painted and I'm like, why bother putting these out if you don't make them right? And to think I couldn't WAIT for these to come out! & now that there out, I can't even bother to buy them.:(

I was rather disappointed in them myself. They're not all die-cast, with several parts being cheap rubbery plastic. Every Enterprise-A I've seen, the saucer has been bent up at the neck because of the packaging. Oh, and they can't seem to decide if it's the Ent-A or the Refit Ent, because on some packages it'll be listed as the A, but the A was left off the paint job, and vice versa.

Personally I'd like to see a Star Trek Titanium series by Hasbro. I've always been pretty impressed with the Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica series, and the size is perfect. If not that, I even wish the Johnny Lightning ones would come back with new ships and not just repaints. I used to be big into collecting the Micro Machines.
