I'm new to this forum so hopefully I'm posting these pics in the right place. This is the 1/2500 scale AMT Enterprise, part of the 3 ship set.

Anyone familair with this kit knows it's a real sow's ear. Took me months to finish accurizing it.

Comments always welcome !

Amazing. You did a great job. I especially like the forward nacelle domes and the "lit" windows.

Wow, that is impressive!! I have only managed to use a pencil and smudge it for the panel lines and dirt. This is in another league!

Thanks guys ! I have to confess much of the detail is due to the Absolute Models decals I used. I built all 6 ships in the AMT 3 ship Enterprise series using these decals. The only thing I did differently than the decal instructions was to dust it with silver oil pastel before applying the finishing coats of dullcote. It muted the stark gridlines and gave her a metallic look hence the "remastered" designation. I also went back in and added tiny white decals to some of the windows as the decals had all black windows. My eyes were crossed for 3 days from cutting them out of a sheet of white decal film with an exacto knife.
Here are some pics of the group:

Looks awesome... specially for the size! :techman:

I have a hard time painting details like that on a big model. :wtf:

HOLY CRAP!!

Well, you're all set for when Round 2 puts out the JJPrise in a year or so (1/2500 is the reported scale of the thing).

So at 1/2500 that would make it a little over 11" long at 2357 feet. Ironically this makes the kit about the same size as the 1/000 TOS Polar Lights kit.

Wow you have some really good skills in painting this :):techman:

Thanks ! I am pretty decent with a brush and microbrush IIDSSM.
My hand can be very steady when I'm in the zone. I also like to use decals where I can; I have a whole stash now of leftover decals to work with. My biggest leap in the past 5 years was discovering gel ink pens to actually draw detail on a model or add weathering. The bussards were done using gold, silver, white, red, blue, green, orange, and yellow gel ink pens, dullcote, future, and amber enamel paint; not necessarily in that order. I also learned how to lightly smudge ink with the feather touch of a cotton gauze sheet. Very careful work; my neck is still stiff !
Here are some WIP pics of the corrrections that were made to the kit including one showing the bussards after the under drawing/inking (?)was done. Subsequent layering was done to add subtlety to the effect
