1/2500 NU-ENTERPRISE!

In other Hobbytalk related news, specifically my Constellation model, I managed to find two of the wayward intercoolers.

Now if I can just corral two more, modifying them if necessary to match the pre-'76 versions, or if I'm really lucky, finding the other two missing ones, then the ol' girl will be complete.

Taking this a bit off-topic, with apologies....

Nothing big. My questioning of the logic of how we can't expect JJ's merry band, with their ridiculous budget and much longer development time, to toe the line as well as the original crew, with a pittance of a budget and a soul destroying production schedule, apparently crossed the line that had been drawn regarding making any more critical remarks regarding the new movie (not that Griff is defending the movie, he's trying to head off another flame war). I'm not taking it personally.
I'm glad to hear that, Bob! Seriously, it wasn't anything personal. You've got it on the nose about why I BANNED - you just happened to cross that line one more time. I honestly appreciate that you've got a different opinion than mine - or that of others who liked the new movie - 'cause it'd be one boring world if we all thought exactly the same. It's just that I couldn't give you "one more chance", 'cause you'd been given a number of "one more chances", specifically on the subject of the new movie.

You've got a lot of interesting insight in to Treknology, starship design in particular. I've enjoyed a great deal of what you've had to say. It just sometimes comes wrapped up in a rather coarse package and that's what rankles a lot of folks, myself oft-times included. My skins a bit thicker, tho, so it doesn't bug me so much and hasn't for the better part of a year now.

People have been hitting the REPORT POST button a lot more than in the past, plus whenever things start getting ugly, something has to be done before it develops in to a full-blown FLAME WAR. That sort of stuff isn't good for anyone and you were sort of the "victim" of the reported posts on a couple of occasions. Call me Heavy-Handed if you want, but I like to think that I've kept more people from being BANNED than I've ever actually BANNED from HT. And I honestly don't like BANNING anyone - other than those folks who are SPAMMERs or outright make threats against other members. Sometimes, tho, it just has to be done to keep the peace. :(
BTW, Griffworks, if you're lurking (if not, someone pass this along), the parts have arrived, and I am in awe of your generosity. I ask for a starboard nacelle strut, I get both struts, the neck, and resin replacement parts for the refit bridge, B/C decks, and photon torpedo launchers. Not sure what I'm gonna do with the bridge stuff, but thanks anyway.
You're most welcome. Again, I may not agree with everything you have to say, but I appreciate both the difference in opinion, as well as the work you did on that model, as well as other stuff you've done and said. I get a great deal of pleasure out of helping fellow modelers. And it's not like the pile of AMT Refit kit's/pieces-parts is in any danger of being used anytime soon. I should just sell those off in lots on eBay or something....
Of course, it'd be nice to post the pics of the refit of my Phase II Enterprise over on Hobbytalk, when I finally get around to that project. Any chance of changing that permaban to a month or two? I was actually involved in some very pleasant discussions of things that had nothing to do with the JJprise.
I tell you what - when you've finished the model, LMK via PM or email here. Post pics and then I'll UNBAN you at HT. That should give me more than enough justification to the couple of folks who've had issues w/you of a personal nature in the past. Plus, it gives you some added incentive to finish your Phase II Refit. Next, we'll start working on getting you to WonderFest. :techman:

After that, we'll work on getting JohnP to WonderFest! It really is a blast, fellas. :)

BTW, I'm not a big fan of the idea of the NuEnterprise being as big as it is reported to be. I'd rather it was close to the same size as our beloved TOS/Refit Enterprise - i.e. right around 300m to maybe up to 350m-ish. If they were going to change the size as they did, they should've then gone back and "fixed" those early VFX shots. I also think they didn't need to make the major changes to the design that they did.
