♫ R.I.P. Jon Lord♫

To say I'm gutted about this is an understatement.

The man's music, with my favourite band as well as solo, was phenomenal stuff, and 'Pictured Within' will always have a place in my heart.

To say he'll be missed cannot begin to explain the void I'm feeling right now.

And yet another piece of our youth goes away...

I posted this one in the General Music Thread, but reckon it deserves restating.

THE definitive version of Smoke On The Water, if only because of the amazing keyboard solo near the end.

Here's something recent Jon worked on along with Tony Iommi, Ian Gillan, Nicko McBrain, Jason Newsted & Linde Lindström.

It really sounds like Born Again era Black Sabbath.

I literally shivered when I heard the news on the radio (in NY). I was driving and had the all news station on.
Then, I was amazed that I actually heard it on the radio in NY.
RIP Jon.

I hope he wasn't still mad at me for that one argument we had years ago. :)

Another great one leaves us. In the last few years, we've lost him, Gary Moore, Ronnie James Dio and Ronnie Montrose.

Not to be too morbid, but I really hope Tony Iommi shakes that cancer.

Very sad to hear, I was away last week and didn't hear about it until Sunday. Along with Gary Brooker of Procol Harum and of course Keith Emerson, one of the innovators of rock keyboard. Often underrated but never ignored.
