Spoilers “Despite Yourself” Preview

If this is the fabled Mirror Universe Episode, I wonder if these are rebel Vulcans, or it might not be the same MU we know from TOS/DS9/ENT

Geez, for the n-th time: what's the point of bringing in the Mirror Universe if it isn't THE Mirror Universe? Other mirror universes: Kelvin timeline, Yesterday's Enterprise timeline, City on the Edge of Forever timeline, etc.... Why would it be interesting to resurrect something other than what we expect from the name?

Well, even "the" MU is different every time (save for having evil lesbians and goatees - perhaps we will now get evil lesbians with goatees?).

The bow view of the Vulcan cruiser is hilarious in exposing the new aesthetique. We never got such an explicit view of Sarek's runabout, but here the pointy-eared shape of the warp ring is literally highlighted...

Ugh, this region-locking nonsense again.

This is the first Trek series to air worldwide at the same time as the US - why let advertising lag behind?

I probably wrong, but I've often just assumed it's something to do with the Netflix deal.

Can’t see the Vulcan ship very well. Looks generically alien. Hope it has a ring engine.

Looking forward to seeing the episode. Too bad the first DSC model from Eaglemoss will be out after season 1 concludes.

I'm sure that's the reason, but one would think they could give Netflix a copy to distribute to the rest of the world around the same time.

That bright white ring right in the middle of the viewscreen is the ring engine. That dark blob in the middle is... A Vulcan face? Methinks Eaves is having a bit too much fun!

Thank you! I thought the white brackets are viewscreen “cursors”. It really looks like a demonic horse face with snout and a Vulcan bob hairstyle.

It remains to be seen how distinct this "cruiser" is from the smaller runabout-style craft we saw in "Lethe", with a similar pointy-eared warp ring and terraced front end. I'm sort of worried that they could have done a mere scale-up here, adding a few window rows. Oh, well. Hoping for the best!

They should have included this clip at the end of the last ep -- it's a much better cliffhanger than what we got.

To me it looks like a bigger version of Sarek's shuttle from a previous episode.

I looked at the screencaps at trekcore the picturew were so dark it was hard to see the Vulcan ship s in the background.

It's a dang shame we can't build REAL Spaceships outta plywood...

We'd be to Mars already and back!

Also, they had an awful lot of "Red Alerts" while they were building that thing.

And who was the dude at about the 32 minute mark who was sitting about where the Captain's Chair belongs, playing the guitar???
(he should have chosen the background music, cause the person who did, chose poorly)
:rommie:
