‘Star Trek 3′: Roberto Orci Wants to Direct

Although there are differences between this November 2007 script and the finished movie, the supernova/black hole "science" remains the same. I have to assume they intended all along for the movie to use this kind of fantasy dressed up in the loosest science-fiction concepts.

What the hell is wrong with Orci? There are *36* instances of 'fuck' throughout the script. Pretty much all of them don't even make any sense: "a fucking FACE is on their screen," "... in fucking labor...", "... the fucking HOLOGRAM of Spock...").

Jesus HC! No wonder people have so much confidence in this latter day Shakespeare...

He went to the Cracked school of writing?

Okay, I'll gladly insult and criticize Orci and his writing, and in fact have been really ramping it in gear since Spider-Man's release last week. But I got to ask, what is wrong with him using fuck 36 times? It's a fucking great word and I always look for a fucking excuse to fucking use it. Fuck.

What exactly is the complaint here? Obviously it wasn't meant for the screen.

Orci frontrunner to direct

BTW, it's typical for Bad Robot scripts to use the word "fuck" a lot.

Then I'd really like to re-read some Felicity scripts...

That being said, it comes off as juvenile and reflects accordingly on the writers. What does "in fucking labor" even mean? Apparently he's confusing the order of events.

It's a word, used to create emphasis. The only thing that comes off as juvenile is the southern fainting spell that its use seems to have created in this thread.

I guess that settles it. This will the first Trek film I'll skip in two decades.

Every time I hear someone say these words, I assume they'll see it twice on opening day.

I'd probably see it once if somebody else paid for it. ;)

That's how I wound up seeing ID in theaters, after only barely getting through 09 on homevid (2for1 day at vidstore.)

I think for another one, I'd have to have somebody pay my way AND pay me for my time.

Fuck off, Bob. :P

I like Orci, though the Truther stuff lowers my opinion of him somewhat, but in regards to the next Trek movie, I think he'll do a fine job.
