News "‘I even have a lounge’: Star Trek superfan turns Halifax house into a ship"

Somebody has followed their passion, had an idea, followed it through and now they are on TV, sharing with the world and celebrating?

And this cynical cartoon is your response?
It's the first thing that pops in to my mind.

It's hardwired to Garfield and Calvin and Hobbes comics. It's not cynicism so much an amazement at how people spend money. I had the same reaction when a friend of mine spent 300 dollars on a Ham Solo belt.

I find it far more amazing that a person is still using a CRT TV in 2024.

He earned it. He spent it. I think it’s great. YOLO.

I still would be if I hadn't been given a flat screen.

I'm happy for him. I also don't get it. That's me. Call it cynicism or whatever but I'm sure people would find my fiscal choices odd.

C'est la vie.
