Spoilers Star Trek: The Last Starship

I asked my wife if it was just me or could she not read that print either. Fortunately, she said she couldn't either so I guess i"m not totally blind yet.

    2025 Comics Thread

I appreciate your thoughts and perspective. I have no stake in this except trying to get Trek comics into the hands of those who might not have been able to afford it the first time around. I'll be purchasing the bundle even though I own a good chunk of it already in floppy form.

    2025 Comics Thread

I will take this post down if it's frowned upon, but currently there is a Humble bundle offer for Star Trek comics from the recent past to present where you can get literally hundreds of books for about 24 dollars. All proceeds from the sale go to the Comic Book legal Defense Fund...

    DS9 Relaunch Appreciation

Coda may be depressing overall, but the DS9 book in it is fantastic, IMO. Watching these characters fight until the end like heroes is such a great way to go out. Unofficially, I look at the Coda trilogy as season 10 of DS9. Avatar-Unity: Season 8 Rest of the books: Season 9 Coda: Season 10.

    2025 Novel Releases

I've finished collecting the entire Star Trek novel run during the pandemic and had time to track everything down online. I've never counted, but I've probably only read 30-40 percent of the novels so far. At 50 years old, I don't think I'll ever actually complete everything, but I'm certainly...

What is happening with Star Trek literature?

All of you Coda authors deserve a round of applause for coming up with a satisfying conclusion to decades of Trek lit. It may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but I loved the carnage and thought that almost every character death had some kind of story/heroic tale to go with it. It was both...

What is happening with Star Trek literature?

I'm doing the same this summer I think. I'm at the point where I need to stack finished books 2 deep and that's just not acceptable.

What is happening with Star Trek literature?

I have adjusted my book shopping much like I have done to my food shopping - research and deal shopping. If you don't search the flyers online and go where the deals are, you're leaving a lot of money on the table. My current plan is buying books from Barnes and Noble. I have gotten a free...

Spoilers PIC: Firewall by David Mack Review Thread

I just finished this novel. If all modern Trek novels are as high quality and as enjoyable as this one was, I can totally accept not having a monthly Trek book. I don't even mind paying for a hardcover, haha. I loved the action sequences and the overall tone of the book. David Mack did...

Spoilers PIC: Firewall by David Mack Review Thread

I will always be grateful that Coda actually happened after months of drama about what was happening to the lit verse. I thought the idea was pretty good and the deaths didn't bother me at all. I actually thought it was cool that I got to see major carnage and death to characters that would...

New Frontier book series and New Earth. Anyone else like them?

Just picked up The Returned trilogy for 99 cents a piece on the U.S. amazon site. Kindle obviously.

    2022 book releases

I read the novel as well and remember it being good. I'll have to give it a look again as I still have it on the shelf. I think the 3 things I enjoyed about the show the most were the tie-ins to the source material, the character interactions and the small amount of exploration they did with...

    2022 book releases

Was everyone else devastated when Frank Mancuso Jr. destroyed what was a pretty good syndicated show? It's not all horrible after a recent rewatch, but the changes certainly didn't help the ratings it seems.

Future of writers of the novel verse

Thanks to the authors for responding to my questions. I appreciate the time you guys put into your work as it clearly shows in the high quality books you put out.

Future of writers of the novel verse

That's pretty impressive when you see the whole list like that. How do you go about preparing for this? Is there binge watching involved? A reliance on your own knowledge? Show bibles? It can't be easy trying to capture the nuances of character when you can't be an expert of all those shows...

Spoilers Coda: Book 3: Oblivion's Gate by David Mack Review Thread

I finished the book today. I read about 150-200 pages on and off throughout the day around yard work, etc. I'm rating it above average. The book is extremely well written in my view and ties up pretty much everything I wanted. Despite the dark tone, there are so many nice moments between...

Spoilers Coda: Book 3: Oblivion's Gate by David Mack Review Thread

145 pages in. Very little fluff in this one. Every event/section has a purpose. I predict people will generally be happy with the direction things are going at this point. Answers aplenty in the first third of the book as well. Knowing that this is the last litverse book, I'm struggling...

Spoilers Coda: Book 3: Oblivion's Gate by David Mack Review Thread

Very small spoiler alert - David Mack has taught me a new word: abattoir It means....slaughterhouse. And it only took him 2 paragraphs into the book to do it. Lots of positive vibes to start.
