Not sure how the response will be on this as it's a fairly niche topic, but I've been trying to find out how the original Star Trek was produced and transferred to video for broadcasting but haven't found much on the subject.
As I understand it, the show was shot, edited and finished on 35mm...
Never would have imagined myself preferring Kurtzman's vision to Fuller's. That is if he does have a large part in the direction of this season.
This new trailer definitely gives me renewed hope.

That last bit felt really out of place though. Like something you'd see in an Adam Sandler movie, where the 'joke' is 'haha, he got snot on his face!'. Hope the writing's a bit smarter than that.

I think I'd give it a 3/5. I really didn't care much for the first seven-ish episodes. There was some decent stuff sprinkled in there, but I just didn't feel like I'd miss out on much if I stopped watching.
The latter half was a bit sillier, but I found it more...
Like others have said, it felt a bit rushed, but overall I was pretty happy with it. Tied everything up sufficiently and got us all excited for next season.
Hopefully they shake up the writing staff a bit, maybe bring in a new showrunner, so next season won't feel as messy. This episode felt a...
You know, while there are some legitimate complaints about DSC, I really don't get the 'it's not Star Trek' brigade.
Optimism and brilliance in the face of adversity is shown in every episode, almost to the point of being offensive.
People don't watch Tarantino films for the violence, that's beside the point. They watch them for the story, characters and entertainment value.
Tarantino's one of the best filmmakers around, I'm sure he's capable of adapting to the almighty Star Trek.
HDR isn't a "digital enhancement". It's a very different technology and likely the future of television. Like the jump from black-and-white to colour, or mono to stereo to surround sound, or SD to HD.
But, yeah, if you're able to turn off HDR on Netflix, I'd recommend it. The fake "HDR+"...
