My wife was saying what a geek I am because of how giddy I was throughout this episode. Favourite episode so far. I always loved the mirror universe as anyone can tell from my avatar. Glad to see this will be the arc for a few episodes at least.

I don't hate it, but don't think it's necessary. It's too middle of the road. There's just enough Klingon rape scenes to say I won't let my kids watch it. But it's not so bad that I would consider this an adult show. Yes, there's swearing, but it's not like it's a part of everyday...

Agree with the OP. Even without my kids watching, it just seems out of place. Like every episode they have to meet a quota of swearing just because. It's like an old man wearing skinny jeans and a popped collar with beats head phones on. They're trying too hard. Like if you're gonna start...

I remember TNG specifically that security was always pretty relaxed. I remember 80s business dude was easily able to contact the captain while he was in a meeting. The explanation for the lack of security was simply that people would normally have more sense than that. Same with Picard always...

I doubt its section 31. Why would a secret organization advertise themselves like that? Its like the illuminati who dont want anyone knowing they control the whole world and dont want anyone to know it, but they apparantly leave calling cards everywhere.

After watching the 3rd episode, I'm thinking they should have started with episode 3 and then during a mid-season break show the 2 part prologue to explain the start of the war and Burnham's character.

I can see a 2nd season episode along those lines where they get Arnold to guest star as a Kelpian soldier in a fight against a Klingon hunter. Lorca and Burnham argue over whether or not to break the prime directive to intervene.
