    Winding Down

Enjoy the end of the war and the finale of a fantastic show.

    Best Garak Lines

Every line uttered by Garak is unmitigated awesome.

Is it just me or did civilian clothes improve from TNG?

I think my balls are crying from how...uncomfortable the outfit Riker is wearing looks.

Is it just me or did civilian clothes improve from TNG?

Thank God I was born two days before 1990. I was spared horrible baby pictures.

Is it just me or did civilian clothes improve from TNG?

Of course DS9 improved the civilian clothes from TNG. They had a number of episodes in 50s suits and fedoras. That is the pinnacle of fashion! Jake's clothes looked awful, but some of the Bajoran and some of Sisko's outfits were tolerable or even attractive.

    "In the Pale Moonlight'

It's still a fantastic episode to this day. One of my favorite episodes of all time

    Biggest "Tear-Jerker" Moments in Trek

This. Right here. That was a heartbreaking scene and the sheer emotion really got to me.

    Sisko intimidates Worf

I'd attribute it to a few things. 1) Sisko punched Q. I'm sure once news of that hit the Enterprise, and the lack of any following visits from Q anytime after that incident, the Enterprise crew (not Voyager, though, since Q was nowhere near as much of a pain in the butt in that show) never...

    Skippable episodes abound...

Move Along Home, and If Wishes were Horses are instant skips for me for Season 1. Move Along Home is just...bad, and If Wishes Were Horses would have been much better if, say, Jennifer, and not some random ballplayer, came into existence for Sisko and Jake. For the most part, Season 1 isn't all...

    re.:Avery Brooks' acting style

Eh I just found the delivery of some of his lines in the first season incredibly flat disinterested. After Season 1, he seemed to have more interest in putting some weight in acting Sisko out beyond just a paycheque.

    Best and worst ship/base assignments?

Worse yet. Watch any of the battles and see how phasers can slice through seemingly undamaged Birds of Prey and Mirandas like if they were made of tissue paper. Defiant? Psh, it has a console explode and maybe some lighting issues on the bridge.

    Best and worst ship/base assignments?

Best assignment during Dominion War: Ships with Plot Shields (Defiant and Enterprise) Worst assignment during Dominion War: Anything else.

    Star Fleet and Genocide

Weren't they planning that anyway? I remember a conversation of Dukat and Weyoun discussing that Earth would need to be destroyed since it would probably be the prime source of any anti-Dominion resistance long term. Dukat wanted the Federation to learn that it was wrong to oppose the Dominion...

    Was Sisko a Javert

Yeah I'd point out they probably had some ships around in case they needed to evacuate due to a Cardassian attack, but the way that the chemical was spreading was quite rapid, and if this was a developed colony, and not just concentrated refugee camp, it would be extremely difficult for the...

Could the Dominion War have been avoided?

There was no real way to prevent the war, beyond the attempt to destroy the wormhole. The Dominion was making aggressive moves against Alpha Quadrant powers from the very start of Gamma Quadrant exploration. Making first contact through giving a list of ships your empire destroyed is not a good...

In little greenmen, if things worked more with Quarks Fantasy..

Eh, the problem with Quark's fantasy is that, for the most part, Quark himself would have been entirely useless. Rom would have been much more useful. Quark, although he is accustomed to using the various technologies like replicators and warp drive, he doesn't really know how to produce them...

    which character takes your fancy?

Yep, Leeta with her wonderful brains that Quark hired her for.

Which "job" on DS9 would you most like to have?

I'd follow Garak around and record everything he says. He might kill me creatively after a while, but the witty remarks will forever be remembered thanks to me! In all seriousness...hmm. Probably a commentator and journalist in relation to Bajoran-Federation politics.

    most "wrong" episode...

Except there is no guarantee that said Maquis colony would be able to fully evacuate without any causalities, and Sisko never checked if said colony would have enough transports to evacuate everyone as well. I really don't think the continuation of the status quo justifies the extreme action...
