I like that everyone aboard Enterprise is an astronaut and their main field (pilot, engineer, doctor, etc.) and not a fighter. By the end of season 2, they learn the universe is out there to kick their butts.
So, actually it seems only Reed is a decent fighter until the MACOs join.
Boy, a few things stand out:
* He was the one who gave Trip a Texan accent. Sad the writers didn't take the accent into account.
* Mr. Trinneer doesn't like science fiction?!
* Decon chamber: I imagine it's embarrassing.
Fun interview to read. I haven't really seen him since Enterprise, but...
I really enjoyed T'Pol. I liked seeing a Vulcan female acted and wished they'd let her continue on a natural path rather than make her a Trellium addict. (I was very disappointed with that story line. To have T'Pol sacrifice herself and become addicted to save Enterprise would've been better...
Completely agree. It didn't suck eggs. Nor was it Shakespeare. I wish they had made the characters more center stage, changed a few aspects, etc. ... but don't hate it. And despite not being a huge Troi/Riker fan, I enjoyed seeing them.
Agree with Bluedana, hard to tell from a few sentences. Scott seems to have done really well since Enterprise went off the air. I'm enjoying his after-Trek success: t.v. shows (where he's become an icon like Chuck), movies, etc. Pretty neat.
Glad to see this thread alive and well. :bolian:
As a long-time Archer/T'Pol shipper, I always loved their relationship--close friends. It made sense that at the end of their journeys, they both would try to seek more than just friendship. I guess in that sense, I was never disappointed with...
Agree on all of the above. :) I think the thing about Archer/Hoshi that's weird is he solicits her help and treats her almost like ... a daughter. He's protective of her in that way, etc.
I think the writers (Sussman) did a nice job of the mirror episodes of displaying things that would never...
I completely agree. I think the best things the writers ever did to the character is put them through a little hell to get them to heaven. It never felt right to the character of T'Pol to have her do drugs, put the ship in jeopardy and then hide it from everyone - with Phlox hiding it along with...
^ Nice av! I think Trip/Hoshi makes sense. I liked their dynamic in Observer Effect.
I think HR's got it: what adds up to one person on sexual chemistry or chemistry at all, doesn't mean a hill of beans to someone else. I saw absolutely no sexual chemistry in Trip/T'Pol, which is why to me...
I thought there was chemistry and thought it added up to something steamy. What was steamy? People caring about each other and giving their lives to each other in a command situation. I like feelings. :)
When was there people caring about each other - giving up their lives?
- Twilight when...
Hopeful Romance indicated a rage thread wouldn't have detractors so ... let's have some detractor free discussion about Archer and T'Pol - favorite moments, why you like them, fav fanfic, etc.
I'll start:
* Too many favorite moments to mention, but a few include the treadmill scene in A...
Thanks for the calendar, HR! Some of my favorite A/T'P moments are involve both of them risking their lives and reputations for each other. Some people could see friendship (or barely see it). I saw really two people caring about each other, deeply. I think every episode where Archer told T'Pol...
Nice comments, everyone! Interesting about the German military and also good comments about NASA and hook ups. I remember about two months ago there was a lot "made" about sex in space.
Well, I don't mean it like, "Archer lets Trip get away with murder." It's more like it feels Archer is...
^ I've been hearing a lot about the Delphic Expanse lately. Are you responsible? :)
I also like the Mulder/Scully comparison. Friends with a little more, because it's really based on friendship and saving each other's lives multiples times.
Nick Ryder, North Star and Jinx - yeah. I thought what was interesting (if one were to read the report) was that sex doesn't have to be involved for people to be considered fraternizing. And I also thought, "If they're on a ship - they spend a lot of time together in small circles." I would...
In the Navy, two commanding officers (a CO and an XO) were fired for fraternization. Both officers were Lt. Commanders working on the same ship.

During the discussion, the CO indicated he didn't have a sexual...
Correction: I said I liked Trip, but felt like this thread opened up criticism. The character's accent is a criticism.
If we're arguing facts: we don't know if Trip has moved. It isn't based on any background we know about the character. You might argue we don't that it isn't the case - I...
