    Jordan Peele's 'Us'

I doubt many here will see this (or perhaps until later?). But this felt to me like classic dark sci-fi, akin to 'Invasion Of Bodysnatchers', 'Puppet Masters' , 'They Live', 'Twilight Zone', 'The Thing' rather than strict horror.

    Netflix 'Love, Death & Robots'

2019 Animatrix? Definitely a contemporary sci-fi anthology/short series. Some (majority) of the shorts folks raving about I thought were at best interesting and beautifully rendered cutscenes for videogames. Or quirky YouTube vids (Yoghurt and Alternate Histories) Personal faves: 'Lucky 13'...

    Poll Quintessential Marvin Gaye

There's a lot of media interest in Marvin, with fans like John Legend, Kendrick Lamarr et al and possibility of new documentary next year. So...simple question...your best/favorite/quintessential Marvin. I was genuinely surprised he'd made so few albums!

    Poll Favourite/best Moore Bond movie

Have loved so many of the kind comments about Moore, so thought this might be a fun fitting tribute (the sort of thing he would appreciate and chuckle at).

    Who tech trivia help

Hope some of the encyclopaedic might be able to help here re: some research I'm doing on TV technology...are there any episodes where in-universe characters - not just Doctor and Companion - might use or intereact with: video recorder to playback taped images a camcorder to record footage cable...

    Unreal Trek...

So, inspired by work Donny is doing on TOS Enterprise (in Fan Art) and brainbox here on Voyager interior, thought I'd mess about with Unreal UDK to see how easy to import characters, meshes, etc, to see if playable game possible. This will be a learning curve/WIP re: lighting, gameplay, NPCs...

Old school Bridge Commander game vids...

While we game fans eagerly await a new (decent) Trek game, I thought old school gamers might enjoy these I dug up recently and thought would share :). Enjoy the nostalgia... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ERTac69nFo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehgG9bxu3Kc

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a524185/michael-fassbender-assassins-creed-movie-about-reliving-memories.html First I've heard of this . Interesting that he's met with the Ubisoft people: Of course may never happen :)

    How small creatures perceive world

I saw this story a few days ago, and it was one of those rare science stories which made me go: 'mmm, that's interesting...'. From the perspective of: that's why I can rarely catch that fly :) In a nutshell:

    Alternate soundtracks for games

Does anyone else play games with their music tracks off and your own soundtrack? I put a bunch of the Hans Zimmer soundtracks (Inception, TDK trilogy) on flashdrive and now use those as alternate background for 360 games, esp. Blacklist. Really does make the games more...epic :)

The Wright Way: new Ben Elton sitcom

Seems to have created a bit of a sh*tstorm on twitter, with people dumping on it left, right and centre. Don't know much about Elton bar reputation, but the episodes of Blackadder I've seen were pretty funny. So curious to see what all fuss was about. Gah. :ack: Unspeakably bad and...

    Fanedits - thoughts and recommendations

I started watching this fanedit of TMP (Warp Re-Edit), but couldn't get past first 40mins or so. I admire what they were trying to do - combining best of DE, theatrical and TV versions; pacing better and swapping out vfx shots - but I just found it a bit of a dog's dinner, with ropey changed...

    Time traveller in 1938 footage

Apparently this is a net curio (apologies if been posted already). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ra6EopXf1w It's bs (other than it being a short-range walkie-talkie device being tested at Du Pont) but a) the footage is strangely alluring and reminded me of those stories about Hedy Lamarr and...

    Things you've spotted on Blu-Ray

Probably like many here have got used to watching favourite films in DVD or compressed formats, usually on laptop while on the road. Recently watched Lynch's Dune on Blu-Ray for first time and struck by number of things: how truly stunning costume and production design are, and Baron even more...

Best and worst of TV/Media 2012?

Lot of stuff was meh about (Cabin, TDKR), but kind of surprised at just how disappointing Prometheus was. Was equally pleasantly surprised at Skyfall.

Food you hated as a child

but you love now :) Blue cheese Yoghurt Mushrooms Swedes, turnips and parsnips I never understood how people hated tomatoes and pineapples, but I hear it's very common. I'm sure there's interesting science stuff in here about taste buds, bitterness, etc.
