What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

My small male brain is not following your logic, at all.

DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

This universe needs a James Gunn Batman. Can you picture Pattinson's Batman doing a dance-off?

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I am not sure why you are unwilling to accept that there could be motivations and interests outside the story that shape what happens inside. Gene Roddenberry maintained attitudes on a range of things that made themselves into stories, often making for complications for the franchise over...

Spoilers Superman (2025) Grade and Discussion

I think that time has been kinder to Jesse Eisenberg’s/Zack Snyder’s Luthor as we’ve seen Musk and (to a lesser extent) Zuckerberg turn into billionaire villains, but I didn’t see any echoes of Musk in the dialogue referred to here.

Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

You mean, are we supposed to act like the ships always had those nacelles, or are they upgrades? Yeah, who knows with CBSTrek.

Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

I wonder if these are supposed to be retcons to fit the SNW aesthetic, like the Klingon changes, or upgrades to existing ships in-universe? They do look better, even if they are low res.

Spoilers Superman (2025) Grade and Discussion

So what? The public obsession with Musk as a theatrical villain has grown tremendously since 2023. There's no reason to imagine that Gunn would have been interested in mapping the personal eccentricities of some public figure onto Clark's dad - certainly not when he wasn't doing anything so...

    Vulcans and Spix Macaw chicks

In my stories (that is a separate universe containing elements from many fictional stories, plus a lot of original elements), Spix Macaws of the Spix Macaw sanctuary were massacred by enemy humans and had a very bad population situation. However, the Vulcans went to help. This included them...

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 3x02 - "Wedding Bell Blues"

Probably better. Holodeck stories were not TNG's strong suit, in my opinion.

It's considered backwards thinking in our century.

Just finished rewatching the first Kelvin movie. Now watching the dog in the garden before going to bed.

Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

My take is, why do we need a new Steve Rogers or Tony Stark when we've got Sam Wilson and Riri Williams? Not to mention all the other young heroes just getting started. I'd rather see a superhero universe just continue moving forward rather than constantly reset the same old characters. There...
