...and he knew some found blood, wounds, and scars arousing, but he never thought he’d meet someone like that. Then again, thinking of the crude jokes his colleague Palmer sometimes made… Palmer had a girlfriend in the same field. Maybe…
No. Jimmy Palmer wasn’t one of those.
He cleared his...
...The explosions around them were hot, and the cold rain… well, you could say the temperature balanced out mathematically. But that was an old joke and completely inaccurate. With raised phasers, Cal and Agatha advanced into the priest’s sanctuary, who had enthralled nearly 50 percent of their...
...A flutter of eyelashes or a slightly husky tone at just the right moment, and they were done for. And they said women were the weaker sex. Good joke.
When she looked at Riker, she felt she knew everything about him instantly. A face considered conventionally handsome, ice-blue eyes, a...
...movies, had a daughter (presumably with his wife) etc. On the other hand, what chemistry does he have with any male character? A couple of bro jokes with Chekov?? Literally any of the three main characters would make more sense as gay/bi than Sulu!
They just made him gay in the Kelvinverse...
...his, his short, naturally curly hair bouncing as he shook his head and smiled. “No, don’t start. I know what you’re getting at—I’ve heard the joke enough times.”
Tony’s green eyes twinkled with quiet amusement as he began to recite:
“The only rules that really matter are these: what a man...
...This–and the Lawgivers' abilities given the "hollow tube . . . no mechanism"–are pretty confusing. I like Zap's take (with hilarious added joke) and blssdwlf's theory as well. I've also always assumed that Sulu's LG street absorption was only temporary and would have required the later use...
...an extremely annoying character, and honest, the only time I ever liked her was in “Half A Life”. There’s nothing interesting about her character.
Worf is the worst TV father ever, bar none. So any attempts by him to parent are a colossal joke. At least Al Bundy openly acknowledged his children.
There's a joke in The Franchise that references this or a similar issue. A big part of the movie that the director (played by Daniel Bruhl) has written depends on the role of this species of "Fish Men". Then, after the movie has already filmed several scenes the Feige character tells him he can...
Gosling has gone waaaay more deep that Reynolds and Pratt ever did. I mean, Bladerunner 2049 just to name a huge one, but many others.
Sorry, your definitely one of the cool dudes around here, but this does not compute.
The standard Gosling acting style? Not seen many RG films I guess?
The character in the book is jokey, same as the character in the Martian was, it's how Weir writes his characters. (Admittedly I'm yet to read Artemis).
All I can say about the film is, if they get right it's going to be awesome!
Today's idea is to notice when someone qualifies their remarks.
You are replying to and quoted me saying "Part of the reason Star Trek became such a cultural staple is because it was largely able to withstand scrutiny, rewarding those who paid attention to the intricate details."
The first...
Not a fan of Gosling, and it looks like they're joking up the script a bit to accommodate the standard Gosling/Reynolds/Pratt acting style (which is getting tiresome). But hey, it was a great story, so I'm looking forward to it.
Are you joking? We've been picking Trek apart since the Sixties. One guy, Phil Farrand, made quite a career out of it.
Believability and consistency aren't the same thing in fiction. Gene's rule was never about the minutiae.
Here's what Gene actually said on the topic
CAN YOU FIND THE...
...the meaning of the few statistics that are made publicly available has a narrative that they're either promoting or else mean to undercut.
The various rule-of-thumb formulas that are bandied around online regarding movie profitability are jokes. They're good for bar room arguments, and...
The only joke I'm "not liking" is him as the little school girl in the bank robbery, that's a bit of a stretch for me. Which, yeah, I know there's plenty of examples with Naked Gun/Police Squad playing with logic like that and I didn't like it then either.
(Except when what's her name takes...
Yeah, I've loved movies where some of the best jokes happen in the background.
And I imagine a scene where Dark Helmet is walking down a corridor that becomes shorter and shorter. As he hits his head, his face contorts in pain, as if he's yelling out.
"Oh god, that looks painful", one of his...
...Helmet:”What does sending messages have to do with going to ridiculous speed?”
Sandurz:”No sir. The engine transmission.”
Dark Helmut:” I knew that. Everybody knows I know that.”
(Everyone covers their groin)
(Everyone)
“Yes, sir!!!”
Maybe they could do jokes in the background a la...
