Yeah, my father also payed around 70 clams for the device. Thanks for accounting the inflation rate. 500 bucks? Yowzah! I'm glad I didn't damage it when curiosity got the better of me and I unscrewed the casing to peer inside! Might not be around today to tell the anecdote!
I understand that you are old. But there is no need to be so angry. People can talk or argue about whatever they want, movie box offices may not matter to you, they don't matter to me either. But it is important for companies, companies do not want to invest in series that do not make money for...
I enjoyed Star Trek Beyond way more than most people did.
But am I sad that the box office for it was a flop? Yes.
Why? Because that flop made Paramount dump the KT like it didn't matter anymore.
You're delusional if you think box office doesn't matter.
To you or me, personally, yeah it...
What the Disney money has done for Who is take the bulk of the budget costs OFF the BBC, not boost them. Thus allowing the BBC to justify making a show that isn't pulling in great ratings and which would otherwise require pretty hefty use of licence fee money to pay for.
...2nd season, and whatever would have come after. It would be a few years before Fox had a hit in "The Simpsons" and took a chance on a quirky ratings loser called "The X-Files" and didn't cancel it right away.
For those of you who don't think TATV was, as some say, an abomination, all power...
When someone hands me some Disney stock I'll maybe give a shit about box office performance of a Marvel film. No, I don't care if it does well. I don't care if a sequel gets made. I don't care about the pop culture impact and I don't care if people remember it next year.
My investment begins...
I only care about it because of what it means for the future of the series. There are tons of movies I love that were absolute flops, even more so than the last few MCU movies, like The Last Witch Hunter and Jupiter Ascending.
I like to see things that I enjoy do well enough to get more...
...yes!
Do I care how either of them performed in the box office? Nope!
I'm just sick and tired everyone focusing on box office takes and ratings and so on as if that's what determines my enjoyment of the film, or anyone else's for that matter!
So please stop acting like it matters beyond...
It was a very very funerary soundbite. In context with ‘Will it go on for twenty more years?’ It isn’t. But as presented, with no contextual question, it sounded very much like dude was on his way out the door.
People can take this article for whatever they think it is worth...

The Steelers were rated 29th in pass protection last year and run an archaic offense. How could signing Rodgers possibly go wrong?!
This kid is looking more and more like a bust. It is a shame because, in all honesty, he should've never been picked before the third or fourth-round as a...
True. But its like McCoy - finally a good era, after a long drought (the Saward and Chibnall eras, respectively) sunk the show creatively, and the plug is pulled. For Disney to expect DW to be a mega success of the Stranger Things ilk is laughable, so them pulling the rug out of an existing deal...
At the rate AI is progressing, I think it will reach the threshold needed for driving a car by 2030 or so. By 2035, I think the tech will be widespread enough for the mass market.
I've finally landed on how I'm going to re-rate the S31 TV Movie. I give it a 5 out of 10. It's half-baked, literally.
Now that I'm over the initial shock from January, I can appreciate it more on its own terms. I like it as a guilty pleasure, generic sci-fi action movie that happens to star...
