You are basing this on a 130 year window where we have seen the Klingons in action. What about the thousands of years prior...they may have been undefeated and feared across the galaxy...perhaps we only see them at their most vulnerable in a small piece of their history but over the course of...
Having spent many years as an actor I will say one other thing...it felt the main cast had no chemistry, they looked like they were delivering lines as if they were the only ones in the room and not telling a story. No cohesion, no relationships, just lines thrown out...cliched ones at that...
what a hot mess of a film. Poorly put together, not sure what it wants to be.
asides from scripted dancey fight sequences this is going nowhere.
Script written in Chat GPT...leading to mostly terrible cardboard hammy performances
didnt think there would be a cringier character than Grey, then...
On reflection, I would say Lorca, Georgiou, Reno as well were some positives in terms of interesting characters and actors that brought them to life. I felt DSC sorta waved its arms around and did EVERYTHING around supposed diversity with no real relatable reason to do it, other than to say hey...
tos - cowboys in space, the final frontier
Tng - family positivity hope
Ds9 - diversity of character and race and strength against evil when hope is lost. Star treks Mahabharata or War and Peace or the Illiad.
Voy - family stick together. Lost in space.
Ent - cowboys in space 2. Baby...
This was absolutely brilliant. Wonder how long it takes to create. Almost feel like all their clips are AI prompts as they are all quite trippy and aren't always clear at what they are saying
Jericho was a badass and the crew threw their toys out the pram because they actually had to do some hard work and wear regulation uniform. I think this was the only episode I hated the TNG crew for not acting like starfleet officers and instead like spoilt children, Riker especially!
Now If someone can add in the tiein novels and comics and all of memory beta listed books video games board games and novels (only where they don't trample on primary television/movie canon)....please
This is an action movie, the only trek easter egg is just that...Rachel Garret. Can't see them playing to the crowd and having too many in-references. There are things to be blown up after all and every second counts in a movie
I am looking forward to it though. Always wanted to see something...
Generations had some lovely moments, especially showing Picards emotional vulnerability. Again both had some beautiful scenes...execution of FF was down to budget, execution of Generations was a flat script
I totally get the ratings aspect of it, for trek and non-trek fans, but in an ideal world ending season 1 as it did (or with a few tweaks) may have been the right point. Season 3 just turned into a fans wet dream and lets be honest, just because it was the TNG crew they got away with a lot of...
Picard should of ended at Season 1...with Picard dying and getting to see his friend one last time. A beautiful scene, ruined by the constant clamour of LETS JUST BRING ALL THE OLDIES BACK/RESURRECTED TO GET RATINGS in Season 3.
