Looking for DS9 test audience research

Hey everybody, I've been searching for a document that I know I've seen on here at some point before - Paramount's test audience research from DS9's first season that showed how audiences reacted to specific characters and episodes. I've been looking all over for it and no luck yet. Does anyone...

Spoilers Star Trek: Discovery 1x11 - "The Wolf Inside"

Did anyone else notice Jason Isaacs' accent was way off in his last scene? Totally threw me off.

Why Bill Shatner speaks the way he does

Shatner never really got credit for adjusting his performances based on the quality of the scripts. In bad episodes he goes hog-wild, as if he will single-handedly save a terrible script through the sheer power of his scenery chewing. I'd say look at "Obsession" vs. "The Gamesters of Triskelion"...

    Kate Mulgrew on Janeway

I always thought she was massively underrated as an actress both in skill and work ethic. Despite the inconsistent material she had to work with and friction between her and Jeri Ryan, she always gave 100% and was very diplomatic in interviews at the time.

Review of Duet. First time watching as an adult.

Aside from the dodgy acting of the drunk Bajoran and the awful, stagey final shot, it's a brilliant episode.

    News La-La Land’s 50th Anniversary Collection

I'm really excited to hear this, and happy to see that some of my suggestions made the set! And kudos to Neil for what must have been a nightmare audio edit on the TAS cues.

Michelle Yeoh will feature in Discovery, possibly as lead

I really like her, but I'm already dreading the inevitable "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Klingon" jokes...

Why Can't Uhura Speak Klingon in Star Trek VI; Is She a Diffrent Person After Nomad

I maintain that the scene in TUC would have been far funnier if Uhura not only knew Klingon, but, to everyone's surprise, bullied her way through that conversation to get them through. Top the scene off with Chekov holding the (unnecessary) dictionary.

    STAR TREK 50th Anni. La-La Land/TAKING REQUESTS!

Okay, best I could do in half an hour, and I don't have timestamps because I don't have the DVDs or Blurays handy. I will look stuff up in more detail if you'd like. I apologize in advance for the length! TNG "Justice" - There's some good stuff throughout this score, highlights include the...

    STAR TREK 50th Anni. La-La Land/TAKING REQUESTS!

Will he be reading any requests from this thread? I don't want to compile a massive wish list and not have him see it. :)

    Volume 2 of score coming

Really looking forward to hearing The Last Outpost, Power Play and Too Short a Season. Not much of note left to release from TNG from the looks of it.

Fact-Checking Inside Star Trek: The Real Story

I'm reading the Third Season book now, and I think I've gotten pretty good at filtering out all the misinformation as I read. Half-tempted to start crossing things out with a red pen.

Trek Returning to TV in 2017!

Thanks, Obama! That petition is screamingly funny, BTW. And almost painfully accurate.

Trek Returning to TV in 2017!

I'm one of those weird people that would be perfectly happy if there were no more Star Trek TV shows or movies. We've been blessed with a ridiculous amount of material, both good and bad, over the last 50 years. But I also understand the desire to bring Star Trek to new audiences, and I'm...

    Geordi's Visor

I always thought there could have been a compromise in the design of the VISOR. Keep the basic shape but get rid of the grille so Burton's eyes would be visible.

What TOS moment has the greatest emotional impact

I always found the final scenes of "A Private Little War" and "The Paradise Syndrome" to be very powerful, mostly due to the music.

Things You Missed The First Few Times

More like there was no inner walkway on the Promenade's second level. It wasn't built until season 2. Here's a screencap of how it looked in season 1. http://ds9.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/1x05/babel095.jpg

Shatner?s Chaos On The Bridge US And UK Arrival

Maybe I'm turning into a cranky old man, but I would have preferred a more traditional documentary format. The constant rapid cutting and graphics over everyone's remarks got tiresome after a while. I think the subject matter was interesting enough to not need so many gimmicks. But it was still...

    Best and Worst Cinematography

The first handful of episodes look exceptional. You can tell that great care went into the lighting, color schemes, camera angles and movements. Even the often-mocked backlighting and soft focus on the ladies were done with great attention to detail. It's a shame this was lost as the series went...
