What are the known canon wars of suppression the new Empire waged during its first couple of years of existence? The destruction of Kamino's cloning facilities and Tipoca City come to mind, but we know that Luthen's flashback wasn't there.
I bounce back and forth on the best, but Pod People currently holds my title of Greatest Episode Ever. It's just peak Joel Era riffing, and for the entire series.
There's never been a poll held but free and wide-ranging discussions of any and all MST3K episodes is encouraged here and pretty much any related topic is up for grabs!
In my head canon the flashbacks of Luthen in the Imperial military happen around the same time as the Battle of Mimban in Solo or it might even be Mimban, just another angle of the same surface operation and this time from Luthen's P.O.V.
It really is. It's how to do canon-tying, connection-making fanwank the right way and still giving the project its own unique feel separate from the rest of a franchise. It's a lot of fun to sit and watch and the cast are generally excellent.
Today Solo turns seven years old. I still like it, and I'll still defend the film. It's two hours of fanwank but it's deliciously fun fanwank. And Alden Ehrenreich sells his younger version of Han Solo, giving off believable Harrison Ford vibes while still doing his own thing.
If Genevieve O'Reilly and/or Stellan don't get Emmy nominations for Season 2 of Andor then the Academy just needs to shut down and forget trying to award excellence.
