I think that was a mistake that no one wanted to be left on the planet. It would have still shown some disagreements on the crew, and if you didn't know what to do with Carey after Season 1, letting him live with the locals would have been a nice compromise. Same with the Maquis from Learning...
I feel like if TNG was made today, Shelby would have stayed on as first officer and Riker would have either been captain of the Enterprise or Captain of his own ship. I feel like his reasons for not wanting the captain's chair really don't hold water and come across as silly.
Justice for Carey. He did nothing wrong, got demoted, disappeared for 7 years and then came back and died before they made it home. Tough luck for that guy.
Maybe some, but there was such a missed opportunity not to get a Murph plushy out for the Holidays and I could barely find a quality Prodigy shirt. It was terrible.
I've tried to read and take in pretty much all of this, and I think the simple conclusion I can come up with is what I originally said, the writers did the actress and the character no favors, despite having a few glimpses of great episodes to her name (Warlord, Before and After, Scorpion...
I've actually watched some of the original on Pluto and yeah Astin was great. I grew up with Julia though so he was my first.
I also apologize for getting Luis Guzmàn's name wrong.
Given your post history, I'm assuming you were talking about Kes. I still like Kes, but the legal problems and finding out the real reason why Lien left (Mental Health) kind of soured me a little bit. I hope Lien is getting the help she needs, but that whole situation seems a lot dirtier than...
I'm glad we're getting more from the family. I want to like Gonzalez as Gomez, but Raul Julia really is hard to beat. Zeta-Jones just oozes Morticia, though.
I think Morn should have gotten the last word in DS9, kind of like how the Home Improvement finale finally showed Wilson's face.
RIP Mr. Wendt. One of the more historic characters I've seen in TV.
I would love more Short Treks. The Very Short Treks I forgot existed. That was the worst thing ever associated with the Star Trek Brand and should be forgotten entirely.
The more time has passed, the more I think TATV should have been a regular episode and Demons and Terra Prime should have been the actual finale. Heck, TATV should have been before Demons. I think if that was the case, it would have went down better. As a finale it just didn't work.
I wish there were special screenings of the movie in theaters in the US this year. The year is still young, but I would love to see the original BTTF on the big screen, and just immerse myself in the soundtrack. The only Back to the Future movie I saw on the big screen was 3.
For a while it was Kes, and I still liked what they did with the character (Before and After mostly), but now it's B'Elanna. She had the best arc and while I like Seven, I just thought B'Elanna was slightly better.
I liked Blood Fever too. It was the first hint of the B'Elanna/Tom relationship, and it was our first lead up to Scorpion with the Borg reveal. At the time approaching Borg Space was exciting and they hadn't done too much with the Borg yet. To have that hint and then Unity and then Scorpion...
